Guest Post: The death of in-game interaction {WoW}

Aug 22nd 2010 3:36PM OK, this is gonna sound mean, but this guest writer is kinda, well, strange. Crafting for the best items in game is just weird to me to be honest. I mean, you should get your best items by killing your most challenging foes, not by buying the materials from the AH. The meta-factions idea is just terrible to be honest. I mean, really? There are PvP events that lead to PvE instances, look at Wintergrasp and Tol Barad in Cata. Player created cities are just as stupid as player housing would be. Something gimmicky that leads to an empty world. And finally, the death risks and jail time is the worst idea I've ever heard. WoW death is simply the best death out of any MMO. Look at Runescape. You lose everything on your person except three of your best items, as defined by the game. Death is severe, nasty, and basically wastes your time. The jail cell this is stupid because people don't want to spend time in it. I'd rather go and do quests and enjoy myself than have to re-obtain items because I died or be arrested.

Cataclysm Beta: New maps {WoW}

Jul 1st 2010 12:20PM Am I the only one who noticed flight path icons by camps? Are these new? Seems awesome to have them marked on map, if that's what they're doing now.

Patch 3.3.5: Servers coming online {WoW}

Jun 23rd 2010 3:08PM I totally agree with mmmaaa here. I know people are saying, "Just look on Blizz's page and you'd know." and I did, however is a WoW news site. I'd say the servers being down an extra six or so hours, more in some cases, is major news. The fact that didn't cover it until after it was over is a problem. I'm not asking for a thought-out multi-part article covering it, I just want a couple paragraphs so I know what's going on.

WoW Rookie: Emblem gear for the fresh level 80 {WoW}

Jun 11th 2010 10:21AM Thank you, Samuel, this was more useful to me than the entire article above.

WoW Rookie: Emblem gear for the fresh level 80 {WoW}

Jun 11th 2010 10:16AM Seconded. Could we please have more moonkin coverage. It seems like all that ever gets done in Shifting Perspectives is Cat, Bear, and Resto. I want my Pewpewparrot covered! =)

Mastery System Preview {WoW}

Mar 8th 2010 10:53PM Because obviously, there is no one that ever rolls on, buys, or otherwise acquires gear that doesn't fit their spec at the expense of someone who could use it right? I mean, that never happens. :/

You're right, two races (soon four), a class, and two professions is so boring! If only they had included something like hundreds of new quests, new talents, two whole continents, a continued story-line, or anything crazy like that, then this game would be so huge. I mean, if they had done that, they might have 12 million accounts! Oh, wait...

Breakfast Topic: The Eternal Stairway {WoW}

Mar 8th 2010 8:17PM AMEN!! It seems to me that with all the things in Azeroth left unexplored, we're spending too much time on what is, essentially a minor boss, Arthas. He isn't the head dude. He's the head dude's puppet who went in revolt. When you think about it, he isn't even that. How many expansions do we have left, three, not including Cata? So that's 2/6 expacs and the Vanilla we've just been, as you put it "kicking him in the junk". I've been reading some on the novels. There's so much more out there! So much to explore and find, so much to expierience! We're almost to the point we're past the halfway mark in terms of number of game releases and I don't feel like I've experienced what I want to. I am in no way knocking the game. I left cuz I just don't have time with a lot of school and I'm really looking forward to coming back! I don't regret getting it or anything like that. I really hope that the next-gen MMO picks up in Azeroth, cuz otherwise there's no way we'll get in all that should be gotten into. Blizzard has made an amazing series of games, but more than that, they've made an amazing world that deserves to be explored and I trust them to handle it more than anyone else, as this is their baby. I just really hope they don't leave it lying in the dirt crying in pain after they've stripped it of profit, as some companies do.

Shifting Perspectives: Leveling 10-20, part 3 {WoW}

Aug 6th 2009 3:36PM I did the same thing, leveling to 20 using balance, but then switching to feral once I get cat form. It makes things so much easier and safer than wandering around with only spells. Also, balance always drains my mana by a huge amount. I can't kill more than one mob without waiting for my mana to recharge. The only time I use spells are instance-running, Healing Touch, and buffs. An added plus: My realm has very few tanks so when I get to end-game, I can respec to focus more on bear tanking than cat dps and add resto to the mix with a dual-spec.

The Queue: I don't really know what's happening here {WoW}

Aug 3rd 2009 5:28PM That blue guy should have a character class based off of him. It would be so cool! LOL

Breakfast Topic: Do you know where your children are? {WoW}

Aug 1st 2009 12:40PM I'm a twelve-year-old level 39 Tauren Druid (started a couple months ago and really loving it) and I'm really tired of people talking about how stupid kids are and how unskilled we are. I don't like those kind of players because they give all kinds of kids a bad name and hurt our chances with guilds, raids, and other social facets of the game. Basically, this is a plea to all players: Don't generalize kids into one group. There are some immature ones just like adults.
