Breakfast Topic: Reining in the ease of collecting mounts {WoW}

May 21st 2010 8:44AM I have no problem with the way in which the mount system has evolved.

My first 60 was a Night Elf and for some reason I had taken a liking to the Human epic horse mounts, it took a fair few months of handing in Runecloth to get the rep I needed. Little by little from farming, the AH and donations from friends I finally reached exalted and was able to get my horse.

I wouldnt like to do the same thing now but I do look back at it and remember what, at the time, felt like a massive achievement. I was proud of that mount.

When I explain that to friends who have only played since TBC they seem to struggle with why I would do something like that just for a mount.

Its changed now, many more mounts are far more accessible than ever before.

Breakfast Topic: Where's the epic {WoW}

Apr 27th 2010 9:20AM "when I say this was vanilla I mean this shot was taken before BWL had even been hinted at"

I hate to be picky but your Priest seems to be wearing the Transcendence chest and shoulders in that shot.

Ready Check: Onyxia {WoW}

Sep 24th 2009 11:37AM Fair enough, I had to google "Martin's Fury" to have any idea what you were talking about. Yes, we killed her on our first attempt or "On our first shot (as in, go) at her we killer her"

Plenty of people use that expression. No need to be so pedantic.

Ready Check: Onyxia {WoW}

Sep 24th 2009 4:08AM I’m not usually one to moan however I felt like giving my impression of the encounter on this occasion.

She was pretty easy, we expected to one shot her and we weren’t surprised by that. I’m not fussed that some content is easy; the game has changed for the better in my opinion.

When it was announced my first thought was that it was being nostalgic for the sake of it. I’m sure some were enthralled at the prospect of doing old content again but personally I would have preferred fresh things to get my teeth into. Did it feel like doing it at 60? Did I come over all nostalgic, like an older gent reminiscing about the war? No.

I suppose for me the excitement of doing Onyxia originally came from the feel of running in with 39 other people, having to work on the encounter and the grandeur that surrounded it.

We were fine with having one shoted her, It was only a disappointment that it didn’t give the feeling it used to. It’s a shame really.

Breakfast Topic: What do you think of the travel changes? {WoW}

Jun 17th 2009 8:06AM Obviously its a little help but its nothing to make slogging through another 80 levels that much more appealing.
