Patch 3.2 changes the tiered Emblem system {WoW}
Jun 18th 2009 7:33PM I am disgusted at the proposed changes with the emblem rewards. I hope these changes are to allow undergeared players to test the new raid and pray these changes will not make it from the PTR to the Live Realms.
WOW PVE for me is about progression and phat lootz. The phat lootz should be reserved for the players who put the most effort into the game. The organisation of a 25man raid and the learning curve involved with each raid boss is far harder than running a 5man heroic and the rewards should reflect this. These changes make a mockery on the progress me and my guild have made in the last 3months.
If they wanted to make players run heroics more, why not make naxx harder? Alot of players skip heroics and go straight to naxx for gear because raiding guilds can carry the fresh lv80s in green gear. Making naxx harder would ensure lv80s HAVE to run heroics before stepping into raids. Why does a casual player who has no intention to raid, need ilevel 226 gear?
As for gearing gap issues for new players, make the daily heroic quest drop 2x valor emblems. This way they can get the gear to start Ulduar in heroics if guilds arent running naxx anymore.
The Reward for 25man gear and 10man gear should remain slightly different too, as it is harder to arrange and coordinate 25 players than 10 players.
I agree that casual players make up the majority of the WOW community, but these changes are promoting so called "hardcore" players to turn casual. Blizzard dont care how often we play, just as long as they get their monthly fee. Infact the less "hardcore" players they have, the less players are online at the same time, the less pressure is on them to upgrade their laggy/full almost 5yr old servers.
I'd like to apologise for the rant, I love wow and wow.com but this is the first time I've felt obligated to say something. These changes may end my almost 2yr wow adventure.
