Dec 21st 2009 11:48AM Well like I said, we tried to talk to the one person and I'm almost certain he didn't speak English. I'm sure it's possible with 5 competent people even if they're undergeared for the instance, but other times you just have to realize that you can't fix stupid.
Dec 21st 2009 11:32AM Barinthos, even with 3 people knowing the fight really well, you can't complete the instance if everyone doesn't know what they're doing.
Dec 21st 2009 11:14AM We need to stop calling it DKP, we rarely kill dragons anymore.
Dec 21st 2009 11:11AM I didn't understand all the Oculus hate until I was forced to do it as a daily yesterday. Our first problem was a mage who claimed to be stuck on his drake with no "Exit Vehicle" button. He got kicked. Our next issue was a totally clueless ret pally who took a red drake and didn't even know it was a tank drake. We wiped on the last boss because of this. Second attempt, the same pally goes and picks up a green drake even though everyone is telling him to get a bronze. He simply doesn't say anything and flies up to the top. We wipe again and I say screw it, it's not worth the repair bill.
In the end, it comes down to Oculus isn't something that other people can carry terrible players through. I H Forge of Souls last night I was doing twice the dps of any of the other dps and everything went very smoothly. It's just not possible in Oculus.
Dec 16th 2009 10:06AM I've seen the Needle Encrusted Scorpion drop twice. The first time 4 people rolled on it. The second time, 5 people rolled on it. Luckily both times it went to a DPS, but the damn thing eludes me. I'm sick and tired of Mirror of Truth and the Brewfest copy of it.
Dec 15th 2009 9:29AM When the game first came out, 1-20 was actually pretty fun and interesting. Unfortunately the many bugs and repetitiveness of the game past that (I only got to level 45ish) wasn't enough to keep me playing. It sounds like they worked out tons of the bugs though, and it's unfortunate that they couldn't hold off releasing the game until they were worked out as they might not have lost so many people.
Dec 11th 2009 2:36PM I'm not sure the equipment manager stores data online. I'm pretty sure it's local data in which case it wouldn't work. But I could be wrong.
Dec 11th 2009 9:36AM The only problem I've found so far is with trying to select specific dungeons for the new Icecrown Citadel 5-mans towards the end of the day (10 ST+) (at least as dps). Wednesday night I queued up for Heroic Forge of Souls and sat there waiting for a good 15 minutes before deciding to just do the random heroic daily. I'm guessing the reasoning is that by that time, most people who wanted to select that specific instance had already done it and we're saved for the day. Obviously there's nothing Blizz can do about this and honestly I'm not overly worried about it.
The rest has been pretty nice. I've only run 2 random heroics so far, one with a pally tank who couldn't for the life of me hold aggro off me and then a decked out DK tank weilding Quel'Delar who I could volley non-stop and still not get threat (except for the one time when I wasn't paying attention and his D&D was down).
Overall, very nice job, I'm enjoying having a reason to finally get some of the heroic dungeon achievements.
Dec 9th 2009 11:30AM There's someone in the Dalaran sewers that lets you trade Triumph down to Conquest.
