Blizzard opens the Mists of Pandaria floodgates for 100,000 annual passholders {Massively}

Mar 30th 2012 5:48PM I'm one of those people that feels like its more worth my while to play Guildwars 1 (original), and work on Hall's of Monument in prep for GW2 than waste time on something like this, even if I did play WoW once upon a time.
Having said that, I am happy for those of you out there that are excited for MOP. May it's beta be everything you hoped for. Those pandas are pretty cute. (albit weird looking around the eyes, on the females at least.)

World of Warplanes is adding dragons for that extra kick of historical accuracy {Massively}

Mar 30th 2012 1:44PM Suggestion to developers:
Use april fools to test out radical new ideas, and then implement them if feedback is positive.

Start a new April 1'st tradition: This is fake, no wait, now its totally real.

On a personal note, I'ma going to go "new creationist" on this one, LOOKS ACCURATE. Dragons were dinosaurs and dinosaurs lived with humans!* Durpadurr!

*please note I am not actually stupid enough to think this.

The Daily Grind: Are MMO players tired of beefcake? {Massively}

Personally I would be apepoo ecstatic to have a female toon with an A cup size for JUST ONCE as an option. Seriously, give everyone else all the big boobies they want, I really just want a streamline tom-boy'ish gymnast physique as an option for once in a mmo... just once... just... one...single...time.
I don't have big funbags IRL, I am happy that way...I love having some real flexibility without giant mammaries swinging around getting in the way. Every single gosh-darn time in a game though, I have to have the DD pornstar supersize or nothing.

Making the 'jump' from Guild Wars to Guild Wars 2 {Massively}

Mar 26th 2012 12:50PM Quite a nice read. My boyfriend is totally new to original Guildwars (I've played) and in our excitement for Guildwars 2, we've started playing the original to get him "caught up" on lore, as well as get him all the fluff item/vanity goodie tie ins that will be rewarded to his character in Guildwars2, when you get (30?) points from the Hall of Monuments from original Guildwars.

It would be awesome if someone had a guide out there, of what exactly we need to do in order to get all the goodies, and how to go about getting them all in a very efficient manner. I didn't see any guides though, so we're wingin' it.

I saw the "Halls of Monument" rewards on the Guild Wars 2 wiki and that stuff is Nom nom nom! :D Must have it all, but... I personally want to try and get at least 21 points for that adorable raccoon pet. D'awh!

The Daily Grind: How many games have you committed to in your gaming history? {Massively}

Mar 25th 2012 1:13PM This sounds a lot like me. I've left MANY MMO's but there are a few that I think fondly of and come back to occasionally: LOTRO, EQ2, Rift, WoW, Fallen Earth, FFXI...and often when I come back and play any new content, I have fun. I enjoy it for a while, but eventually start to remember why I left and do-so again. I only stay as long as the game satisfies.

Sometimes MMO's can just feel like a bad relationship, where the love just... isn't quite there anymore. WoW being a big offender in that dept. Every time I left, all the bad things I hated would disappear in my memories and I'd only remember the good times Wow and I had together. She'd lure me in with flashy upgrades and bling, and I'd tell myself, I'm going to give WoW one last shot... only to have it repeat all over again each expansion. Sorry old girl, I'm moving on.

Currently I've dusted off Guildwars (yes, the original) from the shelf and am giving this old romance another run while waiting for its hawter young sister GW2 to arrive on the scene. I should probably feel guilty, but what can I say?... I'm a player.

WoW's Mists of Pandaria beta download surfaces on Battle.net [Updated] {Massively}

Actually, in RE to my own wondering: The only thing I can think of is that Blizzard is getting pissy about the GW2 buzz.. Is it any coincidence that GW2 just had their betas start, and have been releasing info? Suddenly WOW is doing the same. Huh. Gee... feeling like you have to ramp things up Blizzard? It kinda smells of desperation...
I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard is trying to squeeze its fat butt into GW2's (guesstimated) release time slot. If a lot of people have friends that go to WoW (with a release date around the same time as GW2) Then some people might have to choose WoW instead, since their friends went there. That's... ew.
Sure, it could be coincidental...sure...maybe...no...no most likely not.

Mar 22nd 2012 2:13PM I'm struggling to try and figure out what possible advantage WoW could have for a release around the same time as GW2. This isn't a sumo wrestling contest, Blizzard. You're better off waiting. :/

RIFT 1.8: Guild recruitment system preview {Massively}

Mar 20th 2012 6:51PM Trion, I give you guys some serious grief comment-wise at times, but you've really always been a great company overall, with player interest at heart. I stomp my feet when the things added don't play to "MY" interests, but hey... I'm an admitted self-entitled brat who expects everything to be customized for just me. Admitting its the first step right?
(now about that housing...)

ArenaNet expands on microtransactions in Guild Wars 2 {Massively}

Mar 20th 2012 4:18PM Gold farming happens. I have yet to see it effectively removed into oblivion, on the range of MMO's I play. You would think at some point the developers would just block IP's from outside North America on North American servers...but then the service men/women abroad get screwed over. Not an easy solution. Plus, if it became profitable to do so... people in America would be your gold farmers. It used to happen in ye-old-school MMO days before the rest of the world caught on.

Thats why I approve of this whole thing with Gems and gold. Put the power in the game designer's hands IMO. If you can't stop the farming problem, at least don't feed it. Make the money go to where it belongs, in the hands of its creator, so they can fund further development.

People with money are going to pay for gold if they are able to. This money goes on to fund all sorts of craptastic shady stuff, such as hijacking accounts, and credit card scams. No amount of saying "don't do drugs...i mean...don't buy gold!" is going to stop people that want to buy gold. If there is an advantage, it will be done.
