Blue Posts: Ghostcrawler on bear damage, tanking philosophy {WoW}

Apr 3rd 2012 7:33AM @Artificial

You missed the point. Its not that bear damage on beta is too low or that it can't be adjusted.
There are two big problems right now.

Pally/DK/Warrior - Hit one button for big damage and gives a dmg reduction.
Bears - Hit on button for 60% of all your resources that does dmg OR hit one button that uses 60% of your resources that gives a dmg reduction. Those things are not remotely the same.

Pally's and DK's also have the luxury (can't believe I am saying that) of having two resource systems, so if they are out of one, they can at least fire something off with the other. Bears right now on beta hit SD, wait for there non rage buttons to light up, wait to get back to 60 rage, hit SD, wait if nothing is off CD (everything is, but Maul I believe and we can't use maul because we don't have the rage for SD).

Blizz killed this exact playstyle for ret paladins because it was whack a mole and boring and then moved it to bears. Splitting bears from cats was supposed to give us more tools and more intriguing play style. Right now, we autoattack until a button lights up and press it. They have a lot of work to do.

Mists of Pandaria Beta: Male pandaren customization gallery {WoW}

Mar 29th 2012 1:53PM I just wish we would finally get male models for Blood Elfs. I mean its been two expansions and we have male and female for every other race. One of those settings on the creation screen should have a male option by now.

I like the panda models too.

Dev Watercooler: Mists of Pandaria looting explained {WoW}

Mar 27th 2012 2:54PM "Now they are stripping VP as a method to fill in the gaps. They are disabling rolling on a sub-optimal piece of gear to gain some traction because it is for Monks instead of Druids"

You really don't understand what you are talking about.

Lets say you currently have all 378 gear and one piece of 353. Under the current system, if you don't get an upgrade for that 353, you just keep trying. Hoping it drops, then hoping you win on it. There is no "suboptimal gear" you should be rolling on. Agility leather is for monks and druids.(ie optimal). Agility leather is not "sub optimal" for warriors, they shouldn't be wearing it. Currently not every slot has a piece of Valor gear available.

Under the new system, you hope you win they roll and then will get a piece of gear. Hopefully the one you need. Same as before. You can now however, just go drop some valor and upgrade it to a 361, this week if it doesn't drop and then a 369 next week. (If the system is implemented as stated). So regardless you will get an upgrade if you need it each week or however long it takes to accumulate the VP.

Also you can do daily's for extra chances to win gear.

Or you can keep it the way it is now and hope you don't get LFR with my guild when we bring 15-20 people and need everything to gear two toons. The current system is not fair and is broken because of that. This fixes that problem.

Warlock's green fire is not coming at release in MoP, no timetable {WoW}

Mar 27th 2012 10:36AM "I feel very confident that the technology exists in-game right now to make this possible with a glyph"

I can't think of one example where this happens in game. Spells change color/design, but they change for everyone equally. Saying that "awe this is easy, just flip a switch", sounds like someone who has never programmed at all.

BTW. Please fix this comment system, All you gotta do is make it better. :O)

Mar 20th 2012 11:52AM Okay I am confused. They said that they would be going away, but in a blue post said that ranged weapons could still be equipped by rogues and warriors. If they make them a 2H, that is fine, but then a rogue can't wield it.
So can they equip them, but not actually use them?

What's going to happen with bows?

In Mists of Pandaria, bows, crossbows and guns would be considered hunter-appropriate weapons. In LFR, a rogue or warrior would never be offered a bow as a loot reward. Rogues and warriors will still be able to equip ranged weapons, but they would be very sub-optimal for doing so (sort of the equivalent of a warrior wearing cloth). We left the ability to equip weapons for role-playing reasons and because some existing rogues and warriors have epic or legendary ranged weapons, and it would be mean if they could no longer equip them at all.

Mists of Pandaria: Raid Finder loot system changes clarified {WoW}

Mar 20th 2012 7:40AM I don't think this was to alleviate that, because they don't currently have a good way of doing it. What it does do is give you a slightly higher chance at getting gear (RNG of course applies) as others have shown, but it also stops what a lot of guilds do which is take 15 people into LFR and gear whatever toons you need to get geared by stacking geared toons of the same class(or same tokens) and then needing all the gear and passing it to the one player.

I think the biggest change to the system isn't the roll system, but the item being BoP and un-tradeable.

I am guessing you don't do LFR that much.

I imagine this was down voted, because the flaw in your statement is this already happens.

Currently if say there are 6 hunters for Madness. 2 of the same bow drops. 4 hunters already have the bow. 5-6 hunters are rolling need on it, as you said for whatever reason (greed, stupidity, or just being a jerk)

This doesn't fix the problem, but it really doesn't make it worse.
