Dec 27th 2010 8:12AM surely carrying an entire series with you on holiday is redundant when you will probably only ever read one in that time?
The thing i have against kindle and by extension itunes and steam also, is that you no longer have 'the book shelf' that rack you go to when you are bored and have all of your books, games, music and that satisfaction of actually seeing something physically in front of you, that you can hold in your hands and is not a digital page with no real substance!

Breakfast Topic: Using "IRL," IRL {WoW}

Apr 14th 2010 8:17AM I frequently use both 'Imba' and 'Epic Fail' at work, being the only one in the office who knows even how to switch on a pc im safely the only one who plays wow, however slowly everyone else in the office has started to use these phrases more and more until everything that goes wrong is now epic fail and my managing director referred to a piece of my work as 'imba job, just imba'.
its a truely epic place to work now.

Officers' Quarters: The standby experience {WoW}

Aug 18th 2009 12:41PM if you are on standby, do what i do, roll an alt and go level!
leave your main out side the portal and go work on that other class youve always wanted to try! not only do u then have a second toon leveled up which means you have twice as much oppertunity to be useful in a raid, you also farm up those useful low level mats that guildies always need for leveling new professions, cloths, ores, skins, etc.

Raiding is only a part of wow, there is also a lot of other things you can be doing!

on top of that in my old guild my RL had my phone no and my IM so if I wanted id leave my character there and go off watch a film. If i was needed for a swap in he could contact me and I'd swap in.

One thing that I will always remember from my 1st guild, an excellent groupof people, was that the people on standby would often get on with other stuff together, often not at all wow related. One amazing example was 3 RL friends who were on standby together who I stumbled across on vent doing their school work together! lol
