Jul 22nd 2009 5:47PM Blizzard needs to realize that they have a product that they have mass marketed out the ass. As a result, they have attracted a large part of the population into their group. Most companies learn early on that despite their own personal philosophies that they have to ultimately do what's right for the majority of their players rather than cater to their own personal politics.
That said, it would behoove Blizzard to disallow people from constantly using language that is offensive other players without overly censoring people. AOL used to do this back in the days when they were one of the only ISP's. Their rationale being that while they dont seek to outright censor; they are the ones providing the service and WANT the majority of their players to be considerate of others to help ensure a more peaceful atmosphere.
I'm not going to argue with anyone here, the fact is that calling something "Gay" as a synonym for stupid is offensive and immature. You already aren't allowed to be offensive and immature towards other players as part of the terms of service..so there really is no point in debating the morality of using the language in-game (as in...typed and recorded on Blizzard's servers). Blizzard, just start banning people for doing it. Once it gets to the point where a lot of players are banned--people will start doing it. My only hope is that other gaming companies catch on.

For me it would be forcing me to fight the "Time for FUN!" douche in shadow labs.
