Wait until you meet the Boltons.

Journey is fastest-selling PSN game ever, soundtrack coming April 10 {Joystiq}

Mar 29th 2012 3:01PM @eat it

When the 90 or so minutes I spent playing Journey brought me just as much excitement and wonder as the 90 or so hours I played Skyrim, I'm okay with it being on the short side.

And I freaking loved Skyrim.

ArenaNet expands on microtransactions in Guild Wars 2 {Massively}

Mar 20th 2012 11:21PM This seems generally unintrusive at first glance, and I don't really have any problems with it in the grand scheme of things. One thing that I haven't seen anyone mention yet while skimming through the comments (261 comments? Seriously? *headdesk*) is the obfuscation of prices. I'm not a fan using my money to get to buy "special currencies" that make it harder for me to intuitively estimate the actual cost for an item or service, I'd much prefer to just have the sum transfered 1 to 1 as "game dollars" or whatever.

As it stands now I'd have to look at the price in gems for an item, translate that to dollars/euros(if euros are supported) and then translate that amount into swedish crowns to get a reasonable sense of what buying an item is costing me. Going through that makes me less likely to actually use the system, which in turn makes Arenanet no profit at all. I have the same gripe with Xbox Live and only accept it there since they leave me no choice for some titles (but I do believe they are starting to transition to using local currency, which I find preferable). I can understand why the system is built like this, but I still don't really like it.

The Daily Grind: Do social media tie-ins annoy you? {Massively}

Mar 17th 2012 9:12AM It doesn't really annoy me that much personally, but I can see how others might not like it. I do think that unless the content is in some form tied to the platform (eg. a facebook app or something) it should be made availible in as many ways as possible that makes sense for it.

BioWare announces free SWTOR weekend pass {Massively}

Mar 13th 2012 2:06PM @Verus I'm not sure, but I think you're in the wrong comment section *points towards the soapbox article*

Massively's hands-on with Star Wars: The Old Republic Update 1.2 {Massively}

Mar 13th 2012 10:44AM @Wic I seriously doubt that GW2 would launch before early April.

Mar 9th 2012 4:20AM Am I the only one that actually wants to discuss development models and software development here?

Oh I am? I guess I'll be going then...

Boondock Saints game a 'full-on co-op shooter,' maybe episodic {Joystiq}

Origin auto-adds EA games bought through Steam -- no, it's not creepy {Joystiq}

Feb 28th 2012 11:45AM Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if this extends to other digital stores also, or ist just from Steam to Origin?
