Jul 28th 2011 7:04PM Assist or Defensive, both make your pet attack what is hitting you (beth's aoe spray), but your pet cant go upstairs alone, so he stands there gawking at the boss. I leave my pet on defensive in that fight, and stick him on the Drones while I aoe the spiderlings as Surv.
I found a bug I had not noticed before with Assist just this morning during Hyjal dailies.
I was attacking 2 mobs, one was very low hp, the other full hp. I switched to the healthier mob before finishing off the weaker mob, leaving my pet/dots to kill it. My pet swapped to the healther target before killing the mob, so I switched back and killed it with one shot. Here's the bug: My pet still switched target to the dead mob, ran to it, and attacked the corpse.
Oct 18th 2010 5:11PM The Barge in Thousand Needles is my top pick, especially if you quest there and get the river boat vehicle. You can also start bar fights by cracking a bottle over a gnome's (or goblin if you're alliance) head :)
Aug 18th 2010 8:36AM Great article, I agree on all points. I am also in the beta and when I healed my first instance (throne of the tides), I had no idea Nourish had been nerfed in the pants so bad. On Live, it's one of my most used spells, being super fast, cheap, and very strong. Now? Now it's terrible. My Nourish at lvl 82 is healing for smaller numbers than the ones you posted, and as you level you're crit % keeps dropping.
In regards to mastery, I think the Resto Druid mastery is pretty terrible in it's implementation. Our mastery increases healing done based on the target's HP%, but our HoTs do not automatically scale, they have to be re-cast to get the benefit. And if the target is low enough HP to benefit from our mastery, HoTs are not going to save him, something more direct is. Shamans have the same Mastery as us, but applied to direct healing instead of HoTs, and it works great. It almost feels like the Resto Druid mastery was just tossed in and switched to HoTs without much thought on the vast difference between the two versions.
Aug 14th 2010 11:45AM Yay my pic was chosen :) I took that pic on the far west side of vash'jir when exploring for new tameable pets. I saw that reef and was really shocked by how vibrant of an area it is. There's also jelly fish floating off a nearby ridge, but I couldn't get a shot I liked of them
Jun 19th 2010 10:16AM I've switched mains many times over the years. From my first toon the warrior, to hunter, to priest, back to hunter/war, to druid, to dk, to hunt/war/druid (triple raiding ICC, ugh) to hunter, and right now I've been spending most of my time not raiding H ICC, but leveling up a new little lock on a RP server just to try something new. It helps keep the game fresh for me, and is very useful in pvp/arena if you've leveled each class and learned their abilities and limitations.
Apr 13th 2010 7:10PM I disagree about not suffering a loss by losing tree form and latching other talents with the tree form benefits. For example, I use tree form to great benefit in 2k+ arena, not only for the armor boost, but I cannot be sheeped or hexed, and best of all, I cannot be sapped. The poly's do still occur, but an immunity to sap that noone else has, while that may seem minor, is a huge plus vs a class that will soon dominate us once again, with the abolish poison change. Removing the armor, 'elemental' form, and rolling poison cure is a rogue's free ticket to a win.
I have come up with a solution to the ToL "problem" that I think is viable and could hopefully please all parties (tree lovers, tree haters, and developers), and have a thread in the cataclysm class change section about it called "Hopeful Druid solution to please all". Feel free to contribute as well, anything non-troll is welcome whether you agree with me or not :)
Feb 19th 2010 8:25AM That accursed Vial of the Sunwell from Magister's Terrace at lvl70. I ran that place every day for over a month before it finally dropped. By that same token, never did see the pheonix pet drop either...
