Nov 5th 2011 6:40AM I think the thing that bothers people the most about squishing is not the reduction of numbers on our bars or when we use our spells but a lack of being able to solo things we once couldn't. In this game we are used to getting stronger, whether it be through new spells, being able to kill previously unkillable npc's, random elites and raid bosses included. Who is to say that the lich king is stronger than an aspect of the earth, and assuming that the aspect is stronger, how can one justify the ability of the same group of 25/10 people to tackle that when they could barely beat a weaker obstacle. It is this idea of progression that is present not only in fantasy novels, rpgs or even mmorpgs but in real life also. We all can attest to the fact that talking, walking and writing twenty page papers have gotten trivial as we've gotten stronger(both mentally and physically). No one likes a nerf, and this idea of cognitive dissonance of us killing raid bosses is easily explained when we consider other more glaring issues of such a thing. The old ragnaros was a shell of himself on our mortal plane, illidan and Kael'thas were once people who reached great power and logically any threat we face after the current tier raid bosses has to be a stronger, if not bigger, threat and thus stronger than what we face before. We have to grow and become stronger to meet these challanges. We are, first and foremost, heroes, and we are made to feel that way in our actions, and not taking out soloable content makes, at least to me personally, the character feel even less of a hero in an already crowded universe. Yes I realize its a massively multiplayer game, but I am not arguing about removing that aspect, I am just arguing to keep the choice of feeling heroic on my own if and when I so choose to do so at little to no expense to anyone else.

Tl:DR- do what you will with the numbers but let me solo old content and feel heroic when I want to.

I don't understand the last part of your comment, how do we as players, who can only play the scenarios the WoW team gives us, stop anything that is decided to happen? That makes no sense. What involvement and strategy can a player have other than finishing a questline the way it was meant to. Furthermore, the huge uproar from players of the alliance shows that they are adamant about Theramore and the pride in their faction and in the fact that they would stop it if they can. No alliance player is letting this happen, we simply have no choice. Just as some horde members have no choice but to have Garrosh as their leader. Sounds like you just wanted to do some faction based bashing. :-/

Aug 8th 2011 9:18AM I really like this idea but I think that it would be better if the dungeon was with you and a certain group of npcs, or just single "challenges" in which a player would have to do one thing or another. For example, being a new tank and having a npc party member taking too much aggro and having to get it back, or a dps not standing in fire, or learning a rotation while in movement. These challenges would scale with difficulty like real challenges in a single player game and would be repeatable so one could continue to hone their skills until they were satisfied.

The challenges would scale with what one would be facing such as heroic or normal dungeons or raids where situational awareness is more important and maybe even pvp, where kiting or defensivity or burst dps can be learned. Lastly, give people incentive to do this, either through giving certain points, like 1 honor or valor point for doing them, make it give achievement points or a vanity pet for finishing all the challenges.

Jul 14th 2011 4:40PM This. A million times this. I think that the main argument that people are using is based on a certain sense of entitlement. Players believe that they are entitled to this new feature because it should have already been implemented etc etc but this feature isn't game breaking nor does it give people advantages over others. Lastly this feature is new, and as consumers we should already know that anything new is never free. It happens in every other realm of consummation and wow should be and clearly is no different. No one argues over why they think they are entitled to have free cheese on their hamburgers in mcdonalds or burger king. You either don't or you pay the added fee.

Jul 9th 2011 10:28PM I usually like to figure it out on my own but with dungeons being as they are and people on LFD being slightly less then tolerant when a person doesn't know a fight I'd rather know them before hand. A friend mentioned that there were videos and sites dedicated to this but since I am unable to get in touch with him anymore I figures I'd ask here. Anyone know of these sites or is it just people on YouTube?
