The Queue: Soon {WoW}

Dec 6th 2010 8:02PM @Scooter: Interesting link, but it's silly to say everyone else in the thread is wrong. For one thing, they were getting at different types of explanations; the reasons why the dwarves would have built it that way may be very different from why the developers designed it that way. Even then, I don't think your explanation is the whole story, since they could have removed the second floor but lowered the ceiling if they didn't want the city to be cavernous.

I like parts the Ironforge in that video though. The cavernous Great Forge area on live is really cool, but it would be pretty sweet if some of those catwalks around the rim had remained.

Dwarlock.

Blizzard: Expect more in-game cinematics in the future {WoW}

Nov 3rd 2010 3:18PM Actually, in the cinematic we see a conversation between Arthas and his dad, Terenass II, and then watch Arthas breathe his last breath. If our party left before making sure that dude was dead, we took a huge, unnecessary risk.

Or maybe that's why we have to go back and do it again every week?

Nov 3rd 2010 3:07PM @eyeball2452: We may have known Arthas before Wrath, but we know a *lot* more about him now. I don't have a beta key, but from what I've heard the questing and storytelling are even better than Wrath, so I'm sure by the time we're actually fighting Deathwing we'll know exactly why.

Reader UI of the Week: Sewell's UI {WoW}

Nov 2nd 2010 11:10PM Last time I did a round of interface clutterbusting, it occurred to me that I hadn't clicked the Report button in Recount in months. So I hid it--one less useless little icon on my screen.

Oct 31st 2010 1:18PM On my server at least, dailies reset at either 3 or 4 a.m. (seems to depend on daylight savings time) while profession cooldowns reset at midnight. Same idea though.

I like this change, personally. Rather than feeling I have to wake up and log in at 6 a.m. because I did a transmute at 10 a.m. yesterday, I just do it any old time during the day and it makes no difference.

Addon Spotlight: 4.0.1 UI improvements {WoW}

Oct 28th 2010 6:04PM I use PitBull, but I expect a similar fix will work for Grid and any other unit frame addons people might use.

First, I told PitBull not to hide the default raid frames.

Then I opened up the panel that has the Role Check and Ready Check buttons and all that, including the markers, and clicked Hide. This hides the frames while leaving this control panel available.

You can click the little arrow on the right of the control panel to collapse it again so that it takes up minimal screen real estate when you're not using it. Though I do wish I could move it.

Blood Pact: Warlock soloing instance bosses for fun and profit {WoW}

Oct 25th 2010 9:58PM When I want detailed information about the best way to play my class, I go to Elitist Jerks.

When I come here I'm hoping for interesting perspectives on the game and maybe some humor.

I liked the article. =)

Life Tap and Hellfire are much more convenient.
