Del Toro's Insane to be a sandbox game, Guy Davis doing creature designs {Joystiq}

Aug 15th 2011 4:44PM @SpecBlank I agree 100% on Pan's Labyrinth, I adore that film. But I'm dubious about how well skill at making films can translate into skill at making games...

Dragon Age 2 review: A world of your own creation {Joystiq}

Mar 8th 2011 1:32PM I grew so attached to the story, characters and setting in DA:O (even though some of it was a bit generic), that DA2 is a must buy for me.

But even though I'm probably going to grow attached to the DA2 story, I REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS TO MY WARDEN AND MORRIGAN AFTER WITCH HUNT!
Yes, Morrigan fan here :)

Dragon Age 2 review: A world of your own creation {Joystiq}

Mar 8th 2011 1:28PM @Gritzor It's especially annoying that this time around the launch day price we're paying doesn't even include all of the game's content. The 'Prince' DLC costs extra. That feels like a blatant rip-off. At least with DA:O the launch day content was included in the premium edition.

I hate having to faff around with buying some stupid company points just to piece together the completely game that the developers want me to play.

(Oh and yeah, the ultimate edition of DA:o is a good deal. Recently bought it even though I owned origins, now I've played awakening and the DLC!)

Infinity Blade update coming 'very, very soon,' Chair still has 'lots of content' to build {Joystiq}

Mar 1st 2011 5:45PM I've played Infinity Blade a lot on my commutes to and from uni.

I like it. It should have a feature to tell you when you don't have enough memory to play it smoothly though, as it can sometimes get very jittery.

A peek into the technology behind Dragon Age 2 {Joystiq}

Feb 17th 2011 6:01AM @MistaBubz If you look at the individual textures in DAO you might start to notice some low res walls/floors etc, especially if you have the game on less than max settings. But taking detailed scenes in as a whole without concentrating on individual st it can be quite pretty.

THQ redeploying North Korean BBQ trucks for glorious Homefront promo {Joystiq}

Feb 17th 2011 5:43AM Such an awesome idea for a food truck lol. If Homefront fails at least they can go into the fast food business as a backup.

THQ places Amnesia: The Dark Descent in a retail box {Joystiq}

Feb 16th 2011 9:38AM I would buy this game if I weren't certain not to get 15minutes into it before being too scared to continue.

Dawn of Fantasy combines MMO with RTS on PC this June {Joystiq}

Jan 20th 2011 5:15AM I wish Company of Heroes Online would add a persistent world to give some context to each battle...

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm - This is how the world ends {Joystiq}

Dec 7th 2010 5:27PM I don't like this assumption that 'going back to wow' has to mean non stop playing and losing touch with normal life... Maybe that's the case for some people, but personally I haven't found WoW nearly as life-consuming as some other games, namely Company of Heroes and Team Fortress 2.
I for one will be dipping back into WoW but I doubt it'll go beyond a few hours here and there, as has been the case so far.

Former SAS op Chris Ryan handling Medal of Honor prequel novel {Joystiq}

Aug 29th 2010 7:11PM @StrangeObjective yeah same, I really want the game to be good but I'm getting the vibe that it won't be :(
