Oct 27th 2009 4:33PM I don't think that's a fair estimation at all. As an elemental shaman, I'm consistently among the highest rated DPS (top 2 in a 10man guild) on every fight (with a few glaring exceptions ... I'm looking at you, Faction Champs). If you know how to play the class, you'll do well enough to be included in raids, simple as that. The so-called "hybrid tax" is well worth any penalty I may be suffering from if it means I can toss a crucial off-heal on the MT during a hardmode or use my totems to enhance the entire raid.
The hybrid classes will always have a spot in groups/raids because of the utility and flexibility they can bring. And I have no problem with a mage or warlock outDPSing me. As long as Big Bad is dead, isn't it a successful run?
Overall, I thin WoW's gotten a little too "me-first" DPS meter crazy. Bring the skill and the will ... everything else will fall into place.
Sorry for wall of text!
Sep 28th 2009 12:18PM Has anyone thought that maybe Thrall will first make Cairne the new Horde leader (as his most trusted friend and advisor - reference WC3)? This would make sense, as Cairne is a true voice of moderation and will carry on with the policies of Thrall (even lead to a peace with the Alliance - who can argue with Cairne's pacifist attitude?). Now, Garrosh is drunk on power and geeking out over his "victory" in Northrend. When he comes home to Azeroth, in the wake of the Cataclysm, he sees what he views as a weak leader who will let the Alliance "win." So, naturally, he enacts his own coup, slaughters Cairne as a traitor, installs a puppet (Amon, or whatever his name is) and places the Tauren near him in the capitol so he can keep an eye on them. And surround them with orcs in case they get feisty to deliver the Horde's justice to the "traitors."
This seems like a very likely thing for Garrosh to do, in my opinion. Brutality and hatred are like bread and water to him. And, as a troll player, I can only hope that Vol'Jin packs up his Darkspears and makes for the Echo Isles of Stranglethorn to escape the madness!
I don't like Garrosh, not one bit. But this seems like a very plausible scenario. And no, my shaman will never, ever, EVER defend Garrosh or his Tauren puppet. I'll gladly make my home with the Blood Elves.
Sep 14th 2009 12:00PM Couldn't agree more. If any city in WoW evokes a sense of being worn-in, rustic, and home, it's Ironforge. And this is coming from a Horde player. Ironforge is the best city in the game. Even the music is totally epic.
Sep 11th 2009 9:38AM Can't believe anyone's mentioned it yet ... but I hate the Horde shaman quest Call of Water. The designer that makes me cross 23 zones and spans two continents multiple times at level 16 should be dragged out into the street and shot with a musket. Seriously. I have to go back to Silverpine ... AGAIN?!
Sep 9th 2009 11:55AM We have many fine deals! Friend, you stink of the sewers!
Jul 31st 2009 1:18PM I grab a Pepsi Max, some snacky food (pretzels being the best option), and put on the old headphones. I have a very specific order in which I listen to music.
First must be 10LETC "Power of the Horde" ... then, 70LETC "I am Murloc" ... followed immediately by the compilation album of Iced Earth called "The Blessed and the Damned." After this is At The Drive In "Relationship of Command." And following that is The Protomen "Act I." By this time, I'm usually done grinding whatever I need to grind.
In rare instances that require overtime ... there is no choice. I must play the "Rio" album from Duran Duran.
"Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand!
Just like that river winding through the dusty land!"
... tell me that doesn't remind you of Durotar.
Jul 24th 2009 6:17PM Agreed. The Horde Shaman gear looked nice, and the warrior gear isn't offensive. The rogue/druid Horde gear was nice enough. Don't dig the Ally corsets though, unless you're a tranny NElf. Then it's up your alley, I suppose.
GLAAD will be happy.
For the Horde!
Jul 9th 2009 9:35PM Maybe it's because (as of right now) we're the least played class. I roll troll as well, so I'm the least played class with the least played race. Maybe others find it intriguing or funny, but you definitely don't see too many spacegoat totemics. At least they try to roll shammy-style and for that, I applaud.
Besides, as awesome as your own shammy is ... would you really like to blow all your CDs, drop your totems, pop Ghost Puppies, Shaman Rage, and Maelstrom all over the place, just to see the other guy do it too? That's got to be annoying ...
Jul 9th 2009 9:17PM Druids are powerful indeed. But as for the bit about druids not warring with one another ... shaman also experience that quite often. Ally and Horde shaman (in my experience) help each other far more often than not. I suppose that comes from being the least played class in all of WoW (according to WoW Realms as of a month ago). I personally enjoy getting a salute from an Ally shaman after saving his Draenor behind.
Maybe I'll roll moo-cow druid and see how it goes.
Jul 2nd 2009 5:10PM Re-roll Troll. We're the least populous race in WoW. Sen'Jin FTW!
... and yes, you picked a metrosexual milksop of a Death Knight.
