Sep 21st 2009 12:00AM I ran it 10 times today (Healed the first 5 on my Paladin and DPSd the second 5 on my Hunter).
What no one has said so far is that this is a lot easier than it was last year. We even brought a few new people who weren't around last year, had no idea what the fight was and happily traipsed in and talked to Direbrew, starting the event. Without any buffs, I easily healed all 5 of us with no deaths and Direbrew was dead in under a minute. My Paladin is in Heroic/Naxx10/25 equivalent gear, no Ulduar or T8.5, so it is easy.
We saw one of each trinket (except the healing one), both charms a few times and two remotes. No mounts yet. In fact, most of my normal 10man group ran it, a few in PUGs, and no one saw a mount either. I'd say easily 30 Direbrew pulls and no mounts. We must just be unlucky.
Aug 21st 2009 5:45PM My guild (The Bane - Shadow Council) sought out a guild to run 25man content with before Ulduar. The guild that answered our "ad" on the server forums (Killswitch) turned out to be a great bunch of people and as a team we cleared Naxx25 and have been working our way through Ulduar.
I think the key to a successful raiding alliance was that up front we made sure to say that we weren't looking to merge with anyone who allied with us for raiding purposes. This ensured that there has never been a cloud of "we are going to merge" hanging over any run.
Second, we have made our loot distribution as equal as possible. We do 1 main spec, 1 tier piece & unlimited off spec per run. We also set 1 healer per guild for Val'anyr pieces and swap distribution back and forth between them. Runed Orbs go to the guilds evenly too.
TL;DR - We aren't looking to merge, even loot distribution & Killswitch are a great guild to ally with!
Aug 18th 2009 8:38AM I rarely use Hammer of Justice when raid tanking so I moved it off my bars. Now that we are farming heroics for badges and PvPing for honor for gems I keep /facepalm-ing because I've forgotten it...again.
Aug 17th 2009 9:24AM I will not be attending or paying the $40 for the stream. With all the great reporting at wow.com I don't think I'll miss much and $40 for a pet is not worth it in my opinion. $40 will ensure I have gas to get to work for the next two weeks which, in these troubled economic times, is worth more than Grunty.
Aug 17th 2009 9:15AM My condolences for your terrible loss, sir. Putting your thoughts and feelings into words for this article was probably hard, but you did it admirably.
Jul 4th 2009 2:24PM I am impartial to the new fireworks you get in the mail when you ding 80 (oops, spoiler) but in the past nothing beat the simple Green fireworks being showered from my launchers in Ironforge.
