Feb 18th 2010 9:25AM I worked at a small wedding video production house for a while with a friend of mine from film school. While we were both video editors, which usually implies a level of geek, I was surprised to find out he played wow after a couple weeks of working with him. It didn't take long to convince him to roll an alt on my server (he was alliance, but not completely against trying horde) and while it didn't stick it sure made the long hours of staring at weddings go a little smoother.
Also we spent waaay too many hours pining over new gear and upcoming patches. Even had a system worked out for patch days where we would use the office pc to download and burn the patch files to cd so we could hop online without waiting for updates. Being that we used Macs to edit I wanted to try installing WoW on an external drive and play at work (on lunch as we had to draw the line somewhere), not surprisingly it worked! A WoW connection made that gig pretty sweet.
