Nov 17th 2011 3:53PM And my point is that I think this is within those realistic limits. Being able to buy Heirlooms is already giving a 'benefit' (and more of one than a background queue) to a character I'm not playing, albeit in the future. If I can already quest and queue on the same toon, I don't really see how questing on Toon A while Toon B sits in queue is all that gamebreaking.
Nov 17th 2011 2:55PM I'm sorry, is convenience not a direction you see WoW headed (flying at 60, 310% trainable, heirloom items, Dungeon Finder, now a Raid Finder in 4.3, etc. etc. etc.)?
Your example of VP/CP and Archy/Fishing is a fallacy of multiplication. I'm not asking for tangible benefits I don't earn. I'm asking to be able to choose how I spend a 25 minute wait. The group I wind up matched with doesn't care how I spent that wait. Whether it's AH browsing and talking in guildchat, or playing an alt that got logged off when the queue popped.
Am I completely out of line in thinking this would've been a more graceful solution than Call to Arms and it's Satchel of Exotic Mysteries that cheapens the effort some people put in for the mounts and minipets it can drop?
Nov 17th 2011 1:47PM I don't really know if the coding would be all THAT daunting for it. A change, yes, but I hardly think you're having to overhaul any underlying systems. Perhaps I'm oversimplifying, or using an example that isn't relevant, but if you try to race change or switch servers, the important thing is that your ACCOUNT is logged out, not just that toon. Seems to me like the important thing server-side is just that you're logged in, period.
Nov 17th 2011 1:09PM Q for the Q: is a character-switching dungeon finder something Blizz has ever mentioned? I'd like to queue for a random heroic on my DPS while I play an alt, and when the queue pops and I hit accept, it just switches me to that toon. Seems like an easier way to make long queue times bearable rather than further incentivizing tank and healer queueing.

Oct 16th 2010 3:20AM I don't think it's a coincidence. I got it first try, and I am NOT lucky with these things.
