Mar 30th 2012 1:15PM WOW, lots of multi-paragraph opinions! And here I thought I was the only one that spewed paragraphs only to realize how much I typed after I submitted it LOL.
Cheers to the comments section being more entertaining and informative that some of the posts on Massively :)
Mar 30th 2012 10:16AM Well it would have to be a game you could play without other players.
I say AGE OF CONAN - just because its sooo damn EPIC and while playing, you will get motivation for survival! FOR HYBORIA!!
In all seriousness, AOC, Gods and Heroes, Fallen Earth or WOW - just because there is soooooo much content you can do without need of another player.
#1 is AOC just because most of us have had tons of practice playing without others because of the sheer amount of scumbags - but there are also a lot of amazing people.
Soo many games I havent gotten into I wish I had the time for- lol
Have a great weekend people- S!
Mar 29th 2012 9:28PM Actually, G+h is an AMAZINGLY EPIC GAME! The devs at Heatwave didnt create the game originally. It was created by Perpetual and HW took over to iron out the kinks. The game itself is fantastic, there just wasnt enough promotion pre-release. With the change to f2p happening soon, the game WILL be getting tons of new blood and once you play this game, you will know why people are so loyal to it.
Mar 29th 2012 3:56PM Well, there goes thousands upon thousands of potential customers - thanks idiot higher-ups that know nothing lol.
The ONLY good thing that could come of this is the game being released THIS YEAR, since noone really cares about a game coming in 2014 - thats just too far away.
I have no clue how they will make a single player game out of a game that already has multiple classes, tons of zones and content and more, all done already. Hell, half the mmorpgs we have today have been released with less! Oh well...
I'm just happy that WOW, AOC, FE, G+H, RIFT and others have already been released.
The SAD truth, is that if WAR was promoted correctly and got the players it needed to PLAY CORRECTLY, then Games Workshop would have more funds to throw in with THq to finish this game. I do think Space Marines is one of the most epic games EVER created - so maybe Dark Milennium will be even better? Who knows! I just wish that developers like artists, designers,. writers, animators and such MADE THE DECISIONS for mmorpgs, instead of the higherups that DO NOTHING except micromanage and make horrible decisions. (looking at you Smedley)
Mar 29th 2012 11:25AM ABSOLUTELY!!! Especially on games where the devs let people behave like piece of crap scumbags all day long.
Truth is, theres no need to pay extra or have any new filtering tech.
If mmo devs just had ONE GM spend a few hrs on each server, going through all of them, and then repeating - answering questions, but solely monitoring the public channels and tell/says in main cities. it would WORK!
They would remove the worst 100 or so players from each server and this is the REAL problem, since most of these azzhats have multiple accounts and many many alt characters.
The main problem is the public channel harrassment, and other bs that goes in that chat(ie talking about drugs and rape and racist remarks)
Its sad how much players get away with in games where the only consequence is a little email sent over and over whenever there is a complaint. And some games like AOC have the harrassers and their friends be volunteer-GMs and just ignore whatever they feel like.
I would pay 50.month for any game I love, if the scumbags were removed and there were Perma-BANs for players that cross the line 2-3 times, 1x -warning, 2x = 3day ban, 3x - bye bye azzhole!
And the GMs can remove players even sooner, depending on the situation. If someone is being an azz in pvp, give them a warning first, But, if some scumbags are talking about children doing drugs, how to get pills from their parents and rape and religion - REMOVE THEM!
Remember, a good percentage of ALL mmo communities, unfortunately, are the worlds biggest pieces of TRASH. Its just what happens when you give access to others, with anonymity and no consequences. Most of these idiots spend more time starting at the little chat box instead of PLAYING THE GAME. Sad but true.
Mar 28th 2012 10:26AM Just like credit cards and home shopping channels were seen as "societies devil" decades ago, now they cry about f2p?
I hate that term, free to play. Hybrid model is better, because its NOT free to play. If it was, there would be no subscription option, no store, etc..
Real free to play gives everything. And personally, I looooove subscription becasuse you get EVERYTHING for one simple price. If its f2p, you already KNOW that if you pay for a subscription in a f2p game, there will be tens if not hundreds of items, costumes, etc that you will have to purchase in order to get. Yes some might be comsmetic, but in a sub game EVERYTHING you can earn in game.
People need to realize that even though a lot of mmorpg players are AWESOME PEOPLE, the other half of mmorpg gamers are either immature children or the worlds biggest piles of TRASH. Scumbags of society that play mmorpgs because of the anonymity and the lack of consequences to their acting like pieces of shat all day long.
Long live subscription games. The TRUTH of it all :
If all these mmorpgs spent the $$$ they used in converting to F2p, but used it on PROMOTING THEIR GAME - none would have to go f2p. There are hundreds of millions of GAMERS that dont even know what an mmorpg is!!!! And those that do, know the name of 1 or 2 - thats it!
Devs need to wake up soon, becausde the f2p "revolution" is going to die out as devs get greedy.
Mar 26th 2012 12:29PM WOw, Unverified - talk about BITTER. Are you always so depressing to listen to/read?
EVERY mmorpg is an amazing game, just for different people. Unless you are soo burnt out from playing mmorpgs wayyy too much or have sabotaged your own gaming by focusing on level/xp rushing and gear grinding/farming - Or, you just will never play a Fantasy mmorpg, something is WRONG if you arent excited about this game without criticism??
I will always feel bad for mmorpg devs, just because the players are sooooooo whiny and annoying as heck! They dont appreciate ANYTHING!!
They get a game that you can play 1 or 24 hours a day, every day for the next 20+ years and STILL have plenty to do! - and they still complain because it didnt come out soon enough, or something was nerfed, or they make teh girls breasts to big, or the shoulders too wide, or notr enough content (theres always plenty of content if you dont skip and rush everything just to feel special at level cap) or one of many complaints.
If i was a designer, Id stick to solo or console games, just because you dont have to cater to some of the worlds biggest wastes of life and no matter how many cool appreciative ppl there are, there will always be a vocal majority, not the real majority, complaining and crying, instead of kissing the ground and thanking above that we get something as amazing as MMORPGS!!!
20 years ago we were playing nintendo. Ten years ago it was nintendo 64 anmd playstation and computer games looked like atari games in some instances lol. Now we get massive gameworlds that have the looks of current single player games.
and we only have to pay $15 a MONTH!!!! Thats just insane!
They could charge $50 a month and at least 90% of current PAYING mmorpg players would stay and pay that for at least one game, permenantly - because they are soo great.
Fanboy? maybe. Realist? Absolutely lol
Mar 26th 2012 12:20PM I never played Guild Wars. Ive played WOW, EQ2, DAOC, RIFT and other games of different genres - but ever since I first heard and saw details regardling GW2, I've been incredibly excisted. The game looks to be a living GAMEWORLD with epicness throughout - Roleplay, STory, Adventure, Exploration, Exciting combat, etc...
I want to play GW2, but I'm wondering if I should play GW a bit beforehand to get ready for it? I dont want to lose my interest in the Guild Wars world by playing an OOOOOOLD game that doesnt even compare by leaps and bounds. LOL
So, I ask you players.... Is it better for someone to play GW for a few months until GW2 releases and then play GW2 fulltime? Or, should I just wait and at the most, read GW1's lore if at all - and when GW2 releases, I play it fresh, with ITSELF being my first experience in the GW gamewold adventure?
I appreciate any and all info - thanks! Salute!
Mar 26th 2012 10:10AM Most people get upset and its PATHETIC.
These people are JEALOUS of PIXELS in a game!!! Its ridiculous lol.
If you are healthy - you have no problem with it.
If you arent healthy and ugly, then its a FANTASy for you to strive for.
This shouldnt even be a post lol. Bring back canceled posts! Or PLEASE ask questions to readers that actually MATTER and/or make4 sense.
Whats the next post? "What games do you think SUCK?" then all the whiney babies can cry their eyes out about games they play way too much and rush through and now complain about LOL - sad.
Mar 25th 2012 9:05AM uMM, OF COURSE WOW wins LMAO
Which has more people "INVOLVED" = WOW - DUH!
WOW is NOT a dating website, match.com is
Most people who are playing wow are people with working wives, working husbands or both are unemployed and so on
How is this even a post?
Thats like saying "Which has more BURGERS?
taco Bell or Burger King?? Its a pointless question.
And the only reason Match.com has 1/10 involved is becaue there are a lot of losers and sluts that go on there to meet people to hook up with thile their significant other is working LOL
Funny post though lol, I thought it was April 1st lol
