Mar 17th 2011 12:10PM I have faith in the Lilian Voss story - I think she'll be popping up again in the future (I hope anyway, she really does add an interesting tangent to an already interesting story).
I'm with you on the Worgen starter zone. I was SO excited to go through that! I quested merrily through and then BAM I'm in Darnassus? What? I get that the Night Elves were like the American's French but geeze, I felt like I was just dropped there because someone didn't want to continue the story of the Worgen. Aside from taking my Worgen over to Westfall to experience those new quests - I really kind of put her on the back burner to go through the new undead quests. If they can revamp an entire race's questlines, surely they could've done a little better on an entirely new race?
Mar 17th 2011 11:49AM I don't see why Blizzard would ever make WoW a F2P game, if you've got millions of people ready and willing to pay for a subscription (check, BILLIONS of dollars coming in), why ruin it? Obviously to them and to everyone else it seems Titan is going to take over WoW so let WoW run its course the way it was meant to and when Titan comes out, players will make the shift over.
I personally can't stand microtransactions. I might shell out a guaranteed $180 a year to Blizzard, and then maybe an occassional one time purchase for an XP, an in-game pet or other Blizzard merch but I know the game isn't going to nickle and dime me to the poor house. I don't ever want to have to buy access to an area, currency, gear or funcionality to play my game and if it ever turned into that I would immediately stop playing.
I wouldn't hate a discount on my subscription fee, but I'm ok with some kind of monthly fee. I'm free to come and go as I please, I don't ever have to pay any kind of start up fee and they hold onto my characters and supplies - even if I'm not playing (paying)...that's a good deal to me.
Mar 16th 2011 12:57PM I'm with the group of moose lovers - they're my all time favorite animal. I would've loved to have seen like one or two wandering around Grizzly Hills - or maybe a rare spawn that dropped a pet?!?
I took a break from WoW right before Cataclysm came out so I'm just now getting to see the new zones and I have to say I was excited to see armadillos in Uldum last night, especially when they were sleeping, so cute! And the fox running around, I kept saying, "surely he's there for something" and of course the quest came shortly after.
The new lizards, snakes, birds, moths and so on are not going un-noticed by me...they make Azeroth seem more "real". :)
Mar 15th 2011 8:58AM My first character is my main toon, a human priest. I love her! I think she's the digital me with super healing powers.
I have several other toons from 12-80 but she's the one I work the hardest on. She has all the achievements, pets, mounts etc. I actually used to feel bad for not playing her...like I was hurting her feelings or something, lol
Obviously I'm pretty attached to her.
Mar 14th 2011 2:54PM I'm an Alliance player by heart, but I have SUCH an interest in the Forsaken and Sylvanas. I think they as a group have a really interesting story, if I were to play Horde this would be my race of choice. One thing I find fascinating is how oblivious the rest of the Horde races are to her/them. I think logistically in the end the Horde will either turn on them or they'll break away as their own faction (which I think would be super cool). One thing that's pretty eminent right now is they do pose a real threat to Azeroth in general and now is the perfect time for her to be crafting plans for genocide.
The Alliance side of me has a dislike for King Wrynn. My priest will always /bow to him but I don't like what he did to the now known Defias and the good people of Westfall, Duskwood and Redridge by abandoning them. I think the Defias are an interesting group of people also, they don't go about it the right way but they have a right to be pissed (of course I haven't gone through the new Westfall quests so I'm not sure what the turn of events have done to them).
Mar 14th 2011 2:37PM As someone who is still holding onto I think 3 or 4 group quests for Icecrown - I appreciate the lack of group quests in Cataclysm. With phasing involved it's too hard to try and find people who were on that quest chain. I will most likely attempt them solo at some point when I'm bored, but I refuse to abandon them because I love questing there.
Also as far as the authenticator thing goes...there's no way to change out the battery? I guess I always assumed that you could pry it apart like a keyfob and replace what I would assume to be watch batteries. I do know that one time I thought I lost my authenticator and was panicing because I would've had to sign away my first born to be able to get into my account again...luckily I found it, otherwise it surely would've been the end of the world.
Feb 23rd 2011 2:20PM I for sure find myself doing some RPish things, mostly on my main.
I have a fishing outfit. I don't necessarily wear it for daily quest fishing, but if I'm farming fish I'll go ahead and rock it. I also change into different outfits if I know I'm going to be hanging out in a city for an extended period of time (ex. for auction house dealings, bank organizing, wandering around).
I almost always /kiss King Wrynn when I see him and I would /kiss Garrosh Hellscream in ToC just for a giggle (I play Alliance obs).
I get really involved in the story line, I take the time to read through quests and really understand what's going on, so if I feel an emote or action is appropriate, I have no trouble doing it. :)
Dec 4th 2009 4:12PM My main toon is a Holy Priest and I have to say that I've been wanting something more useful than columns on why I shouldn't have rolled a priest or columns that end with, "I don't know enough about this but, it's all personal preference anyway".
So I give props to wow.com for finally looking for a replacement.
And I agree with a few comments above that Mr. Belt, by far, has the best class column on the site. *fan girl scream*
Dec 2nd 2009 7:04PM No, you can still get up there via that route. It's not easy, but it's doable with a class that has a good fear spell.
Nov 6th 2009 5:09PM I have to say although I didn't get much of this video (the line at the beginning about Alliance is true..I've heard of Mankirk but I have no clue what the whole fiasco is), it managed to entertain me much like the rest of WoWcrendor's movies.
