Leader short stories continue with Varian Wrynn: Blood of Our Fathers {WoW}

Oct 14th 2011 3:31AM Well technically Kings were refered to as 'your Grace' until they got imperial pretensions (such as the French, Spanish and then the English) at which point they adopted the title of Majesty.

Know Your Lore: Current Horde politics - the Orcs, page 3 {WoW}

Mar 27th 2010 11:16PM Why was this marked down?
While Thrall has his fans many Horde players actually dig hellscream's 'bring it on' approach in much the same way that Varian now has fans alliance side. Yes they are both war mongering but pvp makes more sense with this situation. I rolled an Orc for the first time after reading this article: For the horde!

Editorial: Thoughts on the Ensidia ban {WoW}

Feb 5th 2010 7:48PM To just follow up on what someone else briefly alluded to: what I find most disturbing was the review of the logs by MMO: a whole 7 mins at the crucial phase when the Saronite bombs started dropping, seemed to have been deleted. While instinctively I want to give Ensidia a pass on this (so intermitent rogue bombs caused a reset?, boohoo - Blizz's problem not theirs), what feels wrong is the lack of clarity. No video (maybe at Blizz's request?), conflicting reports and incomplete data.

I suspect what doesn't help is that Ensidia is perceived to have previous here. On the other hand the genuine outrage of Muqq is somewhat different to their usual pose of 'hands up, we may have 'ploited'’. I think they're genuinely pissed. And I suspect the nerdrage post goes to the heart of this. They may have just said 'bugger it, there is a crappy bug which should have never made it out of PTR: let's hammer it'. The problem is that that is not something that in retrospect can be defended no matter how they felt under the time pressure of the time.

Forum Post of the Day: WoW is ruined (again!) {WoW}

Nov 9th 2009 9:55AM You cant say there is no advantage. There is an advantage to people who collect companions.

and?... I may as well claim that stamp collecting is unfair due to the fact that some stamps are only available to those who.. well spend money... collectables do not impact game play. You are aware of Trading Card pets.. same principle?

Maybe the next ones will be a simple constantly rested effect or another BoA that can only be bought with cash.

yeh. Maybe....

We're already paying to play the game so, anything else should be given free to everyone. I accept that faction\realm\race change should be payable so people wont abuse it. But anything else should be free.

your internal logic is shot. If they were looking to prevent abuse they could do that by 1 a month transfers. They are trying to monetize the service. Nowt wrong with that: the achievements + all the other superfluous gubbins that they've pegged onto the game have nothing to do with the core game play. Your core game play is unaffected by not having a pet pandaren.

Also the fact that an independent site takes the time to comment on it just shows how much of a negative publicity this brought to the game.

or alternatively everyone thought this was a non issue and the bleating of the QQ minority on the forums seems to have no bounds.

Hallow's End 2009 first impressions {WoW}

Oct 19th 2009 8:19AM No offence but you got what you deserved. You expect Matt to suck up your camaraderie and somehow spot the nuance and 'friendly joshing' when this was expressed as:

the author of this article is soooo whipped! 9 times huh. that means you let ur wife just stay in so she'd have 2 chances at the mount huh =P hehe

Ho ho. You may as well have thrown in an inappropriate 'UR Gay' to just round it off.

If Mergetvs decided to rip you for that you can hardly blame him. A sticky out tongue smiley and a 'hehe' hardly mitigates the tone of the rest of it.

Reread the replies and responses as if this was a pub conversation. You have been the guy who made the snarky comment that leads to conversation stopping, and everybody thinking 'eh?'. Mergetvs would be the guy who makes an overly sarcastic reply in response. You then do the text equivalent of being the fool who clenches his fist and spouts abuse despite being correctly called on being rude, and then mumbles sorry. Classy.

Hallow's End 2009 first impressions {WoW}

Oct 19th 2009 7:40AM We've had all sorts of problems on Teranas EU with Horde at Goldshire finding it hilarious to kill the Orphan Matron while camping the area. Literally for hours on end. Because they hang around on the roofs of the inn and the smithy they can be a bit of a pain to get rid of without a bunch of 80s being on hand and as soon as they get zerged they disappear only to return a quarter of an hour later.. seriously guys...

Feanor? (guessing wildly) lets you ask and answer Warcraft questions {WoW}

Oct 8th 2009 11:33AM Yr a Glass Half Empty kinda guy aren't you :P

I like the interface and it could be really good for getting quick responses and group-led intelligence, however the Stack Overflow tagging system feels a clunky means of being able to graze the knowledge base.
Dunno how but it really needs a more formal means of breaking down topics or filtering IMO otherwise drilling into tags once more than 20 or 30 posts have been made will be a chore. check out the 23000 odd .net tags out of 320000 questions asked on SO. Furthermore it works if you have mature programmers trying to find answers, but I'm not sure how that will work with multiple 'first!' responses :)

Hm. Looks like I drank my brewfest mug half empty..
