Mar 24th 2009 5:11PM You didn't mention BaudGear (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/baud-gear.aspx). It's kind of minimalistic, but it's very intuitive to use. The only thing that I don't like about it is that if you enchant a piece of gear with a different enchant or gem a saved item differently, it won't immediately update the set, but that's just a minor inconvience.
Oct 27th 2008 3:04AM Never played a paladin have you?
I leveled my alt pally through BC. The whole routine of 'lolret' and 'go respec something useful' in PvE got old after the first few times. And now they just nerfed not just Ret, but ALL Paladins with the Judgement changes. So much for 'surgical.'
And honestly I think that most people QQing over PvP issues are just butthurt that they can't farm pallies for free honor kills any longer.
Jul 8th 2008 7:02PM Stereo, perhaps you should realize that ret pallies, just like every other pally spec, has their own niche. They're not to top DPS meters. They aren't there to 'steal' the jobs of other DPS. They, much like other support classes, are there to help the ultimate buff soakers (aka rogues, and if they aren't lucky enough to kick back in the melee group because the rogues whined and cried enough for their enh shammy - ooh! another support class! - then maybe the mages/locks) do more DPS. Sanc aura for a palatank is soooo nice - 12% extra holy damage, which is more threat? Yes please! Not a pally? Okay, 2% extra damage for that party, plus an extra 3% to crit for everyone in the raid, plus getting to keep up Light/Wisdom in addition to imp Crusader? I don't exactly see rogues keeping up buffs. But when rogues and MS/fury warriors can crank out 1200 DPS while the pally is hoping to have a good night at over 900 DPS, especially if he's not in a melee group? There's something a tad wrong with that. Leveling out the playing field a tad, as it were, needs to happen. Yes pallies can heal - if they're holy spec or have a ton of really really good heal gear if they're not. Yes pallies can tank - if they're prot spec. Otherwise you've got a mana sponge, unlike a warrior or a druid. Pally DPS is so so, and has been for a long time.
Jan 11th 2008 4:49AM 70 bracket - Rampage - Blackhand (US) - Alliance
[bg] Alliance Win:Horde Win
The only times I have personally been in a winning AV is in a premade. It's more often than not to get shut out of any honor at all.
[AB] (pug) 15:85
Again, it's rare, but I've been in PuG ABs where Alliance has won. It's more common to see Horde 4-cap almost immediately (even in a pug) and there have been times when it's been a 12:15 (Alliance:Horde) setup. It's far more common to see calls for premades in Trade, though, and most go with premades.
WSG seems to be a quick KB farm run for the Horde, and I've never experienced a win other than in a premade.
I have a bit better luck in EotS, but again, premades Alliance side are far more common as PuGs normally lose.
I play a priest and a paladin, and I try to avoid pugging BGs as often as possible. Whereas I've heard rumors that Horde on our server/BG realm can get full S1 (including the non-set epics) in under two months, each piece for my Alliance toons is extremely painful to grind up the honor to acquire. Only in premades do you seem to gain any honor at all.
Dec 19th 2007 1:19PM Ah! I've had experiences with the Gnomish variety of transporting, with one additional point of research to add: My female Draenei paladin had her pattern scrambled with that of a male Dwarf! The effect corrected itself within the hour, but during that time, she did seem to want to mill about in a tavern, drinking ale.
Nov 28th 2007 8:21AM Yeah, SoV should really be used with a very fast 1h weapon, not a big, slow 2h. Best results for SoV come off of a sub 2.0 weapon swing. 1.6-1.8 is the ideal range that I've found for keeping it up, but 1.8 is starting to get on the slow side of things.
Jun 30th 2007 4:10PM Here's some Pally lovin: Holy Pallies, I love it when you save my butt when I'm doing nothing except chain casting greater heals on a tank. Prot Pallies, I love your Captain America shield. I love how you can hold aggro on so many mobs, allowing everyone to just open up.
But there's a special place in my heart for the most-maligned tree out there: the Retribution Paladins. I love that you give me an additional 12% to damage (Holy/Disc priest FTW!) I love that you can give me another 3% chance to crit - and I nearly fall out of my chair laughing when you say 'hello' with that big slow two handed weapon for over 2k, and then have a Seal of Command proc and I can't even get a Smite off because you just three shot the mob. In about 4 seconds. People make fun of you, call you names, but know that there's a few people out there that love you, Crusader Strike and all.
Nov 17th 2006 3:52PM I'm surprised that no one has squealed with glee over the professions! I'm a tailor, and yeesh, getting patters after your skill hits 260 is a major pain in the butt - along with your gold count.
I wouldn't mind paying a trainer for the patterns - becuase then I know what someone wouldn't be marking up the patterns for pure profit.
