Video Games Live comes to PBS this summer {WoW}

Jun 9th 2010 3:40PM I was fortunate enough to go to the PBS taping of this show in New Orleans. When the Lament of the Highborne came on, I'm pretty sure every wow player in the building (including myself) squealed like little girls. It was a very entertaining and nostalgic concert and I highly recommend that you check it out if it's in your town.

PBS to air 90-minute Video Games Live performance {Joystiq}

Jun 6th 2010 11:44AM I went to the concert in New Orleans that they taped for PBS, and it was an amazing and very nostalgic experience. I definitely recommend that you make it to a Video Games Live concert if it's in your town.

Spiritual Guidance: Holy? Disc? We're all priests {WoW}

Mar 15th 2010 9:58AM Back in the early days of WoW, my main was a 60 mage, but on every single duel I was completely obliterated by my shadow priest friend. Frustrated, I rolled my own priest to see what the class was about and I loved it so much that I made it my main class. Of course, at first I was shadow spec and ran MC/ZG as a shadow-spec healer lol. But after the priest class review and redesign, I became a holy priest. I've stuck as a holy priest since then, through The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King (admittedly I've flirted with shadow spec, mostly for leveling and healer burnout hehe). These days I don't call myself a holy priest but instead a *healing* priest. I'm the only healing priest in my guild, and my two specs are holy and disc. I use either spec fairly equally, depending on the encounter (i.e. holy for sindragosa, switch to disc for lich king).

Another great article! I've read all of your past articles and look forward for more to come!

Phat Loot Phriday: Trauma {WoW}

Feb 5th 2010 11:22PM I really don't think this weapon is all that. It wasn't good before the fix and it still isn't. Healing as a Holy Priest during my 3hr raid last night, it ticked 870 times for a total of 83082 healing, which was 0.7% of my total healing, and overhealed 60% of the time. The stats aren't nearly as good as the other weapons found in ICC25, and I'll definitely be dropping even more dkp to replace it. I could see the weapon being a little better in constant massive raid damage fights like BQL or Twin Valks, but that's about it.

WoW.com giveaway: Get Lich or Die Tryin' T-shirts {WoW}

Feb 1st 2010 4:23PM The one on the right, is that a new trendy design for t-shirts? Down here in New Orleans, there are very popular shirts made by DefendNewOrleans.com that list the names of Saints players in the same style and font. I like both shirts, and I'm just wondering if there was an original that they've copied.

Garrosh, a raid boss? {WoW}

The Dark Side of the Force?

Breakfast Topic: When real life Cataclysms hit {WoW}

Oct 1st 2009 9:56AM During Hurricane Katrina, my house was flooded up to the ceiling of the bottom floor and, like the Fresh Prince, my life got flipped turned upside-down. My home was not habitable until we completely gutted out the bottom floor and so I had to move to Richmond, VA to live with my sister and finish up my last year in college. Everything I had in my life had seemingly been taken away from me. I had to leave behind my family, my girl, all of my friends, and my city New Orleans, where I had lived all of my life.

Everyone in Richmond was especially kind to me (big thanks to VCU faculty and staff), but I was very depressed and devastated. I didn't want to leave my sister's apartment ever. At times I would cry at night because I felt so alone and all I could think about was when would I be able to go home. Some close RL friends had to move elsewhere too, and they suggested we play World of Warcraft since we had so much free time. We all started up new accounts and leveled up together all the way to 60. Because of WoW and Ventrilo, I was still able to have tons of fun with my friends as if they were right there with me. Late-night hilarious drunken wipes at Scarlet Monastery almost felt like being in my favorite New Orleans bar with friends.

WoW made my life infinitely easier and gave me some semblance of normalcy. I still play today while my friends have moved on to other games. I'll always appreciate WoW for helping us get through our cataclysm.

Priest Q&A Released {WoW}

Aug 3rd 2009 10:10PM does anybody else feel like they just read a whole lot of nothing?

I didn't get anything useful from that Q&A. They should've just released this Q&A first and spared me of my built up anticipation lol

Loyola University professor drives City of Heroes/Villains players crazy, all for sociology {Massively}

Jul 7th 2009 12:32PM I proudly graduated from Loyola New Orleans. Lived here all my life. After Katrina, the university had to cut dozens of majors because they couldn't afford to keep them (mine included - Computer Science).

It saddens me that this professor used university money and possibly Katrina relief money to realize that acting like a d!ck gets you treated like a d!ck
