BlizzCon 2011: Mists of Pandaria Pandaren racials {WoW}

Oct 22nd 2011 1:28AM "You realize that all these traits you name have been part of lore since long before Kung Fu Panda, right?"

That just show's that they're even less creative. What's the point in having a creative team if they're just going to rehash the same thing that we've seen since "at least the 90's..."

Pandas, neat. China theme, neat. Martial arts, neatish. All three mashed together. Underwhelming.

Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not going to say it's all going to be bad. I just think it would be nice if Blizzard would put some more effort into their concepts.

Oct 21st 2011 4:12PM So we have martial arts pandas in a Chinese themed setting that enjoy food. And how is this basically not Kung Fu Panda? Cmon Blizzard, a LITTLE originality would be cool.

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria announced {WoW}

Oct 21st 2011 3:48PM I'm fairly indifferent to the pandas as a race. I'm sure I'll roll one if I'm still playing. But it would have been nice to see Blizzard put some creativity into it and do something other than the Chinese theme.

I had the same gripe during WOTLK. Lets just take the vikings and put a apostrophe somewhere in the name.

If any game company has the resources to really get creative it's Blizzard. Just wish they would have utilized it more.

BlizzCon 2011: Pandaren will be playable by both the Horde and Alliance {WoW}

Oct 21st 2011 3:35PM Not sure how I feel about this whole expansion, but if they give the panda's an x-ray vision racial I'll be happy :D
Now... If you are some goon that doesn't know The Panda song... Learn it!

After dark, the panda stalk,
Nightmare creatures with black hearts.
Ravenous teeth that glow in the dark,
Feasting on bums that sleep in the park.

The pandas are coming,
so hide under your bed!
The pandas are coming,
They'll rip your ass to shreds!

The panda is indeed the most mysterious of all creatures,
shrouded in the inigma of it's black and white coat.
What kind of camoflauge is this?
Black and white?
Hiding in an oreo factory (could be),
that's just another chapter in the endless saga of the panda!

The pandas are coming,
to rip off your head!
The pandas are coming,
on a rampage of the dead!

Like the shark the panda has millions of teeth,
which it uses like a hack saw to cut through bones, candy, and fences.
The Chinese believe that if you find a discarded panda tooth,
you have the powers to summon Godzilla!

I'M DRUNK ON PANDA MYSTERY!

The pandas are coming,
so hide under your bed!
The pandas are coming,
they'll rip your ass to shreds!

Totem Talk: Soloing old raids as a DPS shaman {WoW}

Sep 20th 2011 12:35AM Create a trial account. They're permanent now. Level a toon to 10 so that you can group with them.

What you'll do then is load two instances of WoW (if you're curious you DON'T need two copies of the game. Just load it twice.) One will be for the character you will be playing as, the other for your lvl 10. From your main character, invite the lvl 10 to a group. Go to your lvl10 and accept. Go back to your main, right click on your portrait and select "convert to raid".

That's it :) You can close the second instance of WoW so that it's not hogging resources (just alt-f4 so that your lvl10 doesn't leave the group). Enjoy :)

Sep 18th 2011 11:34AM If you've never done raids before then I think you'll really enjoy going back to some of the older content :) Even though a number of them are pretty easy (I'm talking about you Molten Core!) you'll still find yourself with things to do, and the BC raids will present enough of a fun challenge to keep you interested.

Having your husband to partner with will definitely help. In my observation The Eye and Serpenttshrine Cavern are about the limits for most people to solo if you want to clear an entire raid yourself (except for the really skilled/lucky). With two of you those two raids should be quite doable, and even a few BC bosses.

Plus you get to see some of the cooler fights without the pain of overweight, unshaven jerks raging at you with their keyboards.

Sep 18th 2011 11:26AM "Soloing is for people trying to prove something" This sentence alone is probably why you've been so downrated. Especially since you don't support it at all. Point me to some area of this game where you aren't trying to prove yourself. Raiding? Questing? PVP? Achivements? Leveling? Gold Making? Soloing old raids is fun it's a slight break from the mundane routine of normal 85 play. Especially if you're doing the BC raids. You'll actually realize you're putting some effort and a bit of creativity in.

The Queue: Milk argument {WoW}

Sep 16th 2011 10:28PM Soloing kara as a ret pally is way easy. Chess is the only thing that's "hard" and honestly you might have to make two-three attempts at it tops if you know what you're doing. Haven't tried soloing other raids as a pally but the first few bosses in the eye are pretty easy.

Blizzard remains optimistic about WoW subscriber numbers {WoW}

Aug 31st 2011 8:55AM @pancakes

It doesn't take wikipedia to know that Potter Wars and The Rings of Oz isn't original. But let's not kid ourselves about Blizz, they barely even try to give it their own flavor. Toshey Station? Uldum? I'm sure some uber-nerd could list everything, and there is plenty.

Aug 31st 2011 4:10AM "Also, it had what I believe to be the best video game story arc that has ever been invented (the Arthas/LK story)."

Oh you mean the Lil' Anni -> Darth Vader -> Cremated Pimp Daddy storyline? Remember when Arthas killed Obi Wa... I mean Uther and then joined with the Empero... I mean Lich King?

As far as video games go Blizzard does a fairly decent job, but then that's probably because others already wrote it. The just (barely) tweaked some names and passed it off as an homage.
