Is it time to kill tanking? {WoW}

Aug 25th 2011 9:14PM I don't think the changes they make to tanking are going to make too much of a difference. As many have said, the problem with tanking isn't the mechanics (I still think MT'ing ICC was one of the easiest things ever), it's player attitudes. There is so much rudeness in this game, especially with the random dungeon finder. Since players know they'll be running with people they don't know and will likely never come across again there is little incentive to be respectful to each other.

Tanking is easy, learning to tank is not. Simply because of those attitudes. As someone else stated everyone seemingly expects to have their tank be some uber FL-level tank.

I also think Blizzard made a mistake with Wrath. The Heroics in Wrath were pretty easy and very quick. Thus people got used to that and they expect everything to be that pace now. New tanks are going to go slower as they learn the instances and such, but it can be very frustrating when you hear things like "Tank, go." Or not even bothering and just making the pull on their own.

There is little incentive for new tanks to bother with the grief. There is little reward for dealing with that sort of attitude. And experienced tanks are in a better position to be more selective of whom they tank with. Those satchels sure don't make it worthwhile.

Blizz can tweak the mechanics all they want, but as long as people continue to go into groups with the same mannerisms they do you'll probably continue to see people that simply prefer not to bother with tanking. Keep in mind though that the "tank shortage" has been around since pretty much since launch yeah? Hasn't really ruined the game though has it?

WoW Moviewatch: Ulduar: The Movie 3/3 {WoW}

Oct 14th 2009 4:35PM I can see why this was downrated but it's not like anything wrong was said. All the fights are pretty much presented the same way and the music does become redundant.

But I will say that I think the visual limitations stem from the game itself. I mean there isnt really all that much WoW lets you do to begin with

WoW Moviewatch: Ulduar: The Movie 3/3 {WoW}

Oct 14th 2009 1:44PM I may be a fuddy duddy for saying this but I do wish there was more of a music variety in movies like this. I know there was that Black Temple movie what was very similar to this and just the same it was just filled with trailer music.

Im perhaps being too critical because obviously the music works well. I just suppose that while this was good, it isnt anything that really blew me away like it did for some people.

WoW Moviewatch: Ulduar: Defiance {WoW}

Sep 4th 2009 1:53AM Not a bad movie. Like someone else said it was very similar to the Burnig Crusade Movie, but thats not a bad thing in my mind.
One criticism I do have is the music selection. I like the music picked, it's just i think it would have been nice to hear something other than Immediate Music (and the other companies) or H.G.W (and other of the Hanz Zimmer clan). Perhaps a lesser used if not lesser known composer if only for a bit of variety. Heck even some Horner would have been a nice change. But thats nitpicking. The music served it's purpose well. It just didnt really do anything to help the movie stand out from others like it.

The Onion takes on Raiding {WoW}

Jul 11th 2009 11:43PM This is actually an older article hence the ZA reference. From time to time the Onion reuses older articles, to fill space i guess. I also agree with some of the other posters, it would have been nice if some of the references were more contemporary yes?
