Sep 23rd 2010 2:34PM Stick with Plate. The content isn't challenging enough before Heroics to worry about itemization. Unless you're on a limited budget and you are thinking you'll level a shammy in the future. I healed dungeon finder on my Shammy in AP Chest and shoulders. It's really not a problem, especially with Dungeon finder throwing blues at you under level 70.
Sep 23rd 2010 1:27PM Imagine a monk, a Cloth wearing, Melee DPS/Healing hybrid. Increase Armor / AP based on Spirit, and introduce a new resource system 'Chi', which would resemble a mix between Energy and Holy Power. The Monk's healing abilities are predominantly short-ish range AoE DoTs. It would turn them into a fighting healing stream totem. Set up the talent trees such that you have 2 'healing' trees and 1 DPS tree.
You're right that it would be similar to an EnhShammy in play style, but would bring Meele heals rather than totem buffs.
You have to look for a niche that doesn't conflict with other classes. AoE HoTs aren't the providence of anyone yet (though that's changing with Pally's new 80+ heal)
Sep 23rd 2010 1:20PM As to Shammy Shoulders on a Pally.... The gear scales DOWN to your current armor restrictions, so buy the Plate SP shoulders if you want to do a Holy Pally in your Heirlooms. On a level < 40 character they'll show as chain shoulders.
Sep 9th 2010 8:55AM I would Soooooooo flip one of Night Elves to Tauren, or the other way round.
Aug 22nd 2010 1:33PM I'm more reminded of Battlestar Galactica than a Book or Comic. I was a devout listener to Series creator Ron Moore's podcasts through out the run of the series. While the over-arching story of BSG was pretty compelling (okay, except maybe the last 1/2 season) the real eye-opener for me is that Moore didn't really have a huge over-aching PLAN for BSG, not the way that Babalyon 5 was planned out ahead of time. Moore and his coral of writers broke things by season and came up with some really cool story lines that twisted and turned around each other in delightful ways. They weren't quite sure where they were going and let the story take them where it would. In my eyes, this is a MUCH BETTER way to let a story unravel than to force yourself to stay on a single path.
All that said, I don't think the decisions to include new Class/Race combinations was purely a lore decision. I think there was a game balance decision that was made, especially with the Shaman and Paladin classes. Each faction was going to get an additional race that could be Shaman and Paladin, and the lore crafters needed to find where they would fit. The Tauren Pallies is inspired. The Undead Hunters likewise. Gnome priests? Uh.... yeah, not so much.
Jul 8th 2010 11:06AM I do remember seeing that level 10 Enh Shammies would be able to Dual Wield, so there's hope for Fury to be a viable leveling spec. I think they're trying to take the 'Arms till 60' idea out of leveling, which would be really cool.
Jul 7th 2010 12:51PM Tomorrows announcement: GUILD HOUSING (but only in Thunderbluff and Exodar)
Jun 7th 2010 3:17PM Oh... easy.
Tauren, Night Elves, Worgen and some Trolls create the 'Of Cenarious' 3rd faction. Let Grosh and Varian duke it out while the Cenarions reclaim Kalimdore. The Gilneans might be a touch lonely, but I'm sure the rest of the Cenarions could lend out some help.
Feb 25th 2010 5:03PM OMG yes. Ever since I mastered the Nostromo anything less is just frustrating. When you get your keybinds down on the Speedpad Playing WoW is like playing an instrument with different rotations different songs. (Yes, I even 'Chord' on my Nostromo for shift, ctl and alt....)
Feb 7th 2010 4:28PM You HAVE to include some libheal raid frame too. Don't care if it's Healbot, VuDoh, Grid, SOMETHING that compacts the raid frames for small mouse movements, and shows incoming heals is a must. I find that they all work better with Mouse over heals. so don't sweat the 'click to heal' crap. Small frame + Incoming heals... gotta have it.
