Jun 11th 2010 5:25PM It's not like an AV going on for eight hours is anything bad, though.
Remember, there were no cross-server battlegrounds. There has always only been one or two (three tops on overpopulated servers) AVs for people to play in.
And then you could leave at any time and just que back to the same battleground a few hours later.
It was just like any other zone in the world that you could visit, the only difference being that you had to walk through a red portal first. Not a ten-minute matchmade deatchmatch like battlegrounds of today.

There was an addon identical to this one way back in vanilla. I cannot remember it's name to matter how hard I try, but it was definitely the goto addon for pretty much every caster who couldn't make all his abilities readily accessible via keyboard.
It was broken and abandoned sometime late into vanilla. Boy, it sure took long for someone else to pick up the idea.
Worth installing for the nostalgia factor alone.

Jan 25th 2010 3:55AM One thing you might not now about Unholy death knights is that they can cast Corpse Explosion on their ghoul.
It makes the ghoul cast for about 4sec, during which it's immobile, then it pops for ~4.5k (it's a fixed amount, based off the Ghoul's base health) to everything nearby.
Combined with Gargoyle, Engineer hand-mounted rocket, a Strangulate, a Gnaw (before asploding) and an Empower Rune Weapon just to be sure (a 5min cd baseline ability that refreshes all their runes) this can lead to some MEAN burst damage in space of 2-3 global cooldowns, with more sustained damage to follow shortly.
So whenever you notice a ghoul clutching it's chest and growing slightly in size, get the hell out.
This is one of the things that makes skilled death knights so deadly and their frail little ghouls even deadlier.
Better yet, they can explode their pet in your face early if you try to kill it first.

If you have it Stay, move away, target yourself and have it cast Leap, it'll leap right next to your over any obstracles and landscape, completely ignoring wacky mob pathing.
This is often a much, much quicker way to get it down a set of stairs or similar than just waiting for it to run around on it's own.

Seriously, t10 sets look ridiculous on females. It just takes all the "badass" away and doesn't really add any sexual appeal.
Compare to t9 we have right now that has no midriffs and t8 that had them. Ugh.
Nov 20th 2009 6:51AM I wonder why there are no class trainers in starting zones (see 0:16 in the vid).
Maybe we'll just learn new spells automatically as we go, with no need to visit a trainer?
