Feb 9th 2011 9:12PM 16.89% is the hit you have from gear. Heroic presence adds the 1% to 17.89% and that is what your hit percentage is. As a dranei you want to aim for 16% when you scroll over it.
On a side note, the human spirit bonus racial actually adds more hit than the dranei heroic presence racial for shadow priests, at least at level 85.

Feb 9th 2011 9:02PM Fox spelled it out at the end of his article. Keep your dots up. Use mind blast every time its off cool down now. Then cast mind flay when there isn't anything else to do. The only thing not mentioned is dark archangel. Cast it when evangelism is fully stacked and you can fully restack it before you need to refresh a dot. Also it should go without saying, use your shadow fiend every time your cool down is up as well.
Feb 9th 2011 8:46PM I use mind spike on raid boss fights where you have to kill adds quickly. 2 mind spikes plus either an instant cast mind blast or a shadow word: death, or two, usually is enough to kill most adds like lava parasites, abberations, poison bombs, etc. Mind spike is also great for the Omnitron Defense System fight. Cast it when the recently activated boss has 50 energy to wipe clean your dots and you can fully dps all the way to the switch on each boss. Other dps that have dots need to stop them well before the switch.
If you find that you are low on mana after using mind spike to kill adds during an add phase in a raid, just sneak shadow word: death into your rotation a few times afterwards and your mana will be back up to where it was.
Jan 12th 2011 6:33PM Its still amazing how many pug tanks I run into refuse to use my mind control, even when I try to explain all the benifits to using it, including using it to pull. When I run with my guild tanks, its a given that I'll use mind control in every group of trash that needs some form of crowd control.
Despite Fox' warning that it can be confusing for a tank to have a mob suddenly turn friendly, I will at times mind control without the tank knowing that I'm going to do so. I'll only do this if the pull looks like it is going horribly wrong. Broken crowd control, aggroing a pat, or pulling a second set of mobs for example. Since mind control doesn't break to damage it can be a life saver if used in an emergency. Just be sure to grab a mob that isn't being attacked.
Jan 12th 2011 6:12PM Yah, I cast psychic horror ever time my mind control breaks. Fade doesn't really work after a mind control is broken as you have all the aggro, and there has been no aggro applied by anybody else since the mob has been "friendly" the whole time. A quick psychic horror will allow the tank time to grab him, or time for you to reapply mind control.

Aug 11th 2010 7:30PM You can't replace all of one stat, only a portion of it. I can't remember off the top of my head but I think it was something like 40% of one stat. Also I seem to remember reading that you could only change the secondary stats on an item. I could be wrong, and if I am somebody please correct me.
