15 Minutes of Fame: Sci-fi and fantasy copyeditor Deanna Hoak {WoW}

Feb 16th 2011 9:18AM As a former copyeditor, you should know that copyeditors are overworked, underpaid, and unappreciated as a rule. So have a word with Blizzard's management, not the three copyeditors Blizzard employs. Mistakes that did make it into the game likely never even came before a copyeditor's eyes. "Ah, who cares? We need to get this up" is the way it works now.

The Queue: Ackis != Arrakis {WoW}

Feb 1st 2011 11:30AM It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of sapho that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains, the stains become a warning. It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.

Officers' Quarters: Guild wars {WoW}

Jan 24th 2011 3:26PM This is not a guild war. A guild war is when this happens on a pvp server and the kicked members all change factions, and then continually harass and kill their former guild members, especially outside raid entrances on raiding nights.

Or, two guilds may simply declare war on each other because that Alliance guild has it coming.

Blizzard warns against buying gold {WoW}

Oct 21st 2009 2:37PM How about just banning or canceling the accounts for dead characters spelling out gold-selling web sites? I've seen these advertisements sit around for months! If Blizzard really cared about gold-farming they'd do something about that. But they don't want to mess with those accounts, I assume, because they're paying "customers." They also need to beef up internal security, because the rates of players getting "hacked" are so high it indicates Blizzard employees are probably selling password files.
