Blizzard issues official statement on Raid Finder exploit consequences {WoW}

Dec 6th 2011 5:19PM I'm not a fan of the threat change. Before you could usually tell a good tank from a bad tank based on threat to some extent. Do tehy know the rotation? Are they using the right seal ( Which half the time they are not), are they spec'd correct?
Now, nothing distinguishes a good tank with 50 to 60k threat before the nerf to a tank doing 30k since it doesn't matter.

Aside from gear levels, threat hasn't been a problem in all of cata, but I have run into some not stellar tanks with good gear doing horrible threat and generally bad play.

Ret Paladins, Frost DKs, and mages for me are always the worst offenders in pulling agro at the beginning of a fight, but popping divine plea, judging/shielding on the way in usually was enough to manage once vengeance kicks in.

Jun 18th 2011 5:26AM I have to say, 25m content is significantly easier then 10m content. That would be the only thing i would disagree with.

Lose one person in 10m...Brez..lose 2...it could be and usually was over at the start.

What took our 2 10m groups 2 or 3 weeks to get down, our 25m run did in its first 2 hours.

It was crazy how much easier it was. So much more room for error and bad play in a 25m then a 10m. Then throw in faster gear progression, its a no-brainer. Do a 25m, you spend less time and accomplish more.

Heck our first 25m's didn't even have 25 people we 22 or 21 manned a ton of it.

As for the guilds blowing up over this change...it didn't really happen. Once you do a 10man and a 25man, you see how much easier a 25m is...if u can do it, u will.

I used to raid 5 or 6 days a week. A 10m, a 25m, an alt 10m...and if i had nothing to do on a weekend..an alt alt 10m. There was just so much more to do. Easier healing mechanics produced more alt healers and smoothed out gear and learning curves.

Try to run a cata 10m with a bad healer and ur two other healers may try to murder you. Sure, once you have gear, u can two healer, single healer some fights, but getting to that point was not fun.

I got my last alt to 80 2 weeks before cata came out, i had 8 of em. (Yes, i might have played a bit too much heh)

In cata...i had those same 8 alts all at 85 by the 3rd month. Just feels like so much less to do on my main these days.

Mar 27th 2011 2:37PM For the server transfer/Faction Change you need to make sure you do the following:

1. After Transferring Servers, but before the faction change, make sure to login the character and change the name if you have been flagged for a name change.
2. Faction Change

If you don't, you can end up with two name changes on your character. The first one from the faction change you set in the character customization screen, the 2nd from the transfer as you try to login said customized character.

It can be very annoying if you don't, and you either have to wait/beg a gm to help you, or change your character name a second time.

Cataclysm raid progression refinements {WoW}

Apr 26th 2010 7:33PM Whoops. I was interupted while typing that.

You would have 32 dps when you need 25. So someone is getting left out.

Cataclysm raid progression refinements {WoW}

Apr 26th 2010 7:29PM From a standpoint of having too many things to do, this is awesome. From a standpoint of being easier to raid a 10man, this is awesome.

But this will break up guilds and probably make it very difficult for some people to find groups or even join new guilds.

From my own experience I can say that my 10 man is way more fun then my 25 man. They are both guild runs, but the 25 man is not at the same level of skill/dedication that my 10 man is. So why deal with the hassle of wiping due people standing in fires, when I can play with 10 people who rarely do that.

I'm not trying to be elitest, I am far from the best wow player around but this seems like it will make more small guilds with less interaction. Why bother to make tools for guild v guild relations when a 10 man will give you all the gear you want.

Players will usually take the easy road. How many people do you see turning off the buff in ICC? Not to many.

As for the people who said that if u run 2x25 right now, you can do 5x10. That is just not true. Blizzard has said that each 10 man raid is built around 2 tanks 3 healers and 5 dps. 25 man is built around 3 Tanks, 6 healers and 16 dps.

If you had 2x25 man, u end up with 6 tanks when you need 10, 12 healers when you need 15, 32 dps when you need 50.

Not to mention you can just throw 5 random dps together and expect to do well. Try doing sindragossa with a melee heavy group, its not that fun. And class balance well no matter how much blizzard says bring the player not the class we all see how wrong that is on AoE fights or big Damage fights. You can not just pick a random assortment or raiders period. Sure you can do some fights, but not if you expect to do hardmodes. (Try hardmode saurfang with a melee heavy group. Good luck with that)

Now, blizzard might design with this in mind, but I doubt it given there current track record.

Trust me right this moment, there are thousands for "A-team" people in 25 man guilds going "F!@k 25m, no more wipes because of stupid people or bad players"
