The WoW Insider Show Episode 239: Garrosh has that with giant fangs in his face {WoW}

Apr 3rd 2012 1:00PM Hey, McCurley? That tongue thing? Go die in a fire. Now I can't stop noticing my damned tongue.

5 stupid-awesome uses for a Potion of Illusion {WoW}

Mar 28th 2012 1:26PM I just had my brother AND my girlfriend come in to check on me. Apparently, the last time I laughed like this was when I was four or so.

Breakfast Topic: Mists of Pandaria beta's lack of NDA {WoW}

Mar 21st 2012 8:15AM When I get into the beta, I'm going to start off by rolling an Alliance Pandaren monk, and then once I figure out what continent they start off on once they're off the turtle, I'll roll a Draenei monk. That way, I can see how well the monks are integrated into existing races, as well as the new one, and test how they level through 1-90 (or as close as I can get). I also plan to level my Death Knight from 85-90, or, again, as close as I can get, and hopefully that will give me the widest possible view of the expansion from a testing standpoint. I'll also be parsing everything I do for logging purposes; while the data isn't of much use to me, I'm sure that there will be people actively looking for copies of other peoples' logs to use in theorycrafting, and it could potentially help Blizzard too. I figure with three characters doing the new 85-90 content, I should be able to cover all the quests at least once and see if there's anything bugging out.

If I've managed to do all that, I'll probably level a Pandaren monk 1-58 Horde-side, and then use any time that I have left to start doing the dailies (if they're running) for things like the mount and the farm.

Oh, and I will totally be THAT Death Knight who is running around Elwynn Forest looking for more pokemans, sorry, pets to catch and use in battles. Because picking flowers wasn't disgraceful enough.

Have reforging demands become too complex? {WoW}

Jan 31st 2012 3:14PM You can totally hit the hit cap as a Fury Warrior. I did it on my Frost DK just for lulz (I've got an entire second set that I've gemmed, 'chanted, and reforged just for hit cap, haste to GCD cap, and then crit after that).... I wouldn't necessarily say it's worth it, but I will say that my DPS is incredibly even. It's great for boss fights, not so much for trash mobs. It's a full HoT Heroic set, and I can get a VERY steady 13k. Not the best (I can burst up to 15k-16k with my "optimal" version of the same set), but it's worth the reliability.

The aesthetic consequences of new character models {WoW}

Jan 23rd 2012 4:55PM I remember reading an interview about how they spent WEEKS on the bounce animations, and kept testing them over and over and over. They said that for them, it was such a minor thing, but they felt like they had done a good job when players kept jumping everywhere just because they could.

As far as TOR's animations go.... I'm still trying to figure out how they dropped the ball on this one. When EVERY OTHER animation in that game is so far beyond anything WoW has, it baffles me that they broke every single cardinal rule of in-game jumping: You don't slow down when you jump, the jump has to be dynamic and realistic, and the character must feel like they weigh something.

Breakfast Topic: What is WoW's most lucrative profession? {WoW}

Jan 23rd 2012 9:34AM Oh, I definitely do, but it's also a question of how reliably I can sell them. Bags will sell. Always. I've been playing since the original beta, and I've NEVER had a bag get returned to me in the mail. But cloth doesn't always sell, and for someone who's only casually working the auction house, that gets frustrating fast.

Breakfast Topic: What is WoW's most lucrative profession? {WoW}

Jan 23rd 2012 9:19AM Tailoring. It's one of the less-obvious ones, but doing just my Tol Barad dailies, I can make three or four Embersilk bags with the mats I collect and sell them for 250-500g apiece. So on a good day, I make 2000g WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING EXTRA. All other professions require you to actively farm mats, or buy them, but with Tailoring, I get mats as I work. There's always a market for bigger bags, or even just regular bags (Netherweave and Embersilk) for new alts and new players. I'm working on my Netherwing rep grind right now, and I come out of those dailies with enough mats for two Netherweave bags as well. Most non-HoT dungeons give me enough mats for one or two Embersilk bags (there's very little lootable trash in the HoT dungeons).

Of course, if you take it with Engineering.... you lose all your profit just leveling it.

The Queue: Pie party {WoW}

Jan 15th 2012 5:11PM It's certainly an idea with plenty of merit. Two rival Companies, one for Alliance, one for Horde. Pit them against each other directly in the starting zones, and have the expansion focus on going FROM Outland to other worlds visited by the Burning Legion, in preparation for battle against Sargeras. The Ethereals are starting to directly feel the squeeze from the Legion, and that's their motivation for joining up with us.
