Sep 24th 2010 8:34PM For wrath, the gamestop's around here only got enough collectors editions to cover pre-orders for it, so unless someone failed to pick theirs up, you couldn't get one. Even normal editions they only had slightly more than the pre-ordered amount for release night.
If you want a collectors, best to pre-order it somewhere.
Sep 24th 2010 8:32PM Here's a question that has been on my mind recently.
I've been trying to finish up loremaster before cataclysm hits. I probably will, just finished kalimdor last night so I only need some outlands/northrend.
I'm curious though, if I am unable to finish outland/northrend before then will the current loremaster be unavailable or would it still be obtainable since Eastern kingdoms and Kalimdor is done. Or another question I guess, is the current loremaster being changed to something else or staying the same? I thought I'd heard it was changing but not sure now.
Sep 24th 2010 8:19PM Dont know what you mean about them changing order, my characters have always been in the same order that they were created, never once changed.
I also would love to change the order though, right now my main is my first character, but my #2 and #3 80s (my main alts if you will) are in the (slot 5 and 7 I think).
While they could do the ordering locally with text files as they do numerous other things, I'm sure if they did this they would probably choose to do it by saving the changes remotely in the database, just as they have moved things like macro's and key bindings into their remote database. This way you can pull up wow on any machine and the game is more or less the same, minus addons/some interface options.
Jul 9th 2010 6:33PM I've racked up about 260 days /played I think in the years I have been playing. Of that, I'd estimate between 40-50% of it is afk time.
Being a computer programmer, I tend to spend the majority of my time infront of the computer. Quite often I will open WoW to do a little AHing, and then alt-tab out to get back to work while waiting for auctioneer to finish doing it's thing. After that, depending on what I'm working on it may easily be 30-45 minutes before I alt-tab back in to either start the next batch, do a daily, or finally log out.
More recently, I'll find myself logging in in the evening, but alt-tab out to work either a personal toy project or something with an upcoming deadline while waiting for some friends to login or a raid to start. I'm usually on vent chatting during this time, but only tabbed into the game periodically checking the friends list/chat log.
I have always been curious exactly what my /afk time is, I'm sure it's probably rather high.
Apr 17th 2010 1:00PM I bought the pets Pandaren Monk, and Lil' KT. I might buy Lil' XT at some point. The mount probably not. I'm a bit of a cheap bastard, $10 I'd be willing to spend, $25 is pushing it. Part of buying the other two was because a portion of the money for the Monk (if I recall correctly) was given to charity.
There are other toy items I might be willing to buy, from TCG and such, but they would have to be priced in the $5-10 range most likely.
Aug 6th 2009 2:01AM We did XT tonight in a brand new raid (we dont run til wednesday nights) and the adds were still way above what they were pre-3.2. Along with that probably, our tank (me) kept getting lightbombs toward the end of the encounter.
Hotfix failed I think.
Aug 5th 2009 3:17PM I agree, it'd be nice to see where my comp stands in comparison to the average based on what they gather.
It'd be interesting to see best/worst for each slot too, ie what's the top video card being used / worst video card being used. Which is most popular, ati, nvidia, etc.
Aug 4th 2009 5:14PM I dont know how you'd uninstall your launcher. My guess is you just unchecked the box on the login screen that says 'Show launcher' at some point, therefore wow skips it when starting up and goes straight to the login screen.
For that, all you'd have to do is re-check the box and start wow again, or go to the wow folder and run Launcher.exe.
Though at this point your probably S.O.L. have have to re-install from scratch since you deleted your stuff.
Jul 27th 2009 11:49AM My guild is in a similar situation sometimes, and othertimes, still struggling to form a group. We're a small guild relativly new to the raiding scene, and we've gotten a few friend recruitment recently that allowed us to have a fairly stable 10-man raiding schedule. Lately though, as we've been raiding more frequently more of the older members have been showing up wanting a spot, and a few more friends have been invited that want spots. Some nights we'll have 15-16 people on, with all wanting a spot, other nights, we might only have 6-7, and missing key spots (tanks or healers).
It really is a big headache trying to deal with it, while keeping people happy. Especially when everyone seems to want their spot and cant stand the thought of going next week, or even the next night.
