Breakfast Topic: How would you be honored ingame? {WoW}

Aug 9th 2009 8:24AM I think I would have to settle for yet another NPC - a dwarf hunter, of course, wandering through the streets of Dalaran in full Tier 4 and toting the Wolfslayer Sniper Rifle. But the catch is that he's completely, totally smashed. Randomwalking, walking into walls, staring blankly at doors, etc. Every now and again, the pet wolf would cover its eyes with a paw in shame. Bonus points for unlimbering a gun and taking a potshot at whatever critters happen to be nearby.

...quite possibly because this is how my main spends most of his time in the game.

Breakfast Topic: Most frustrating non-drop {WoW}

Aug 6th 2009 9:09AM Let's see here...

For my main - MM hunter - it was definately Envoy of Mortality. I ran Naxx25 weekly, first with PUGs and then with my newfound guild, from late February and though I'd only managed to down him nine times, I had not seen it drop. Ever. Nor, for that matter, did Giant's Bane drop for the first six weeks of Ulduar25. Of course, the day it did drop, I was the only hunter in the raid, and both Giant's Bane and Siren's Cry dropped.

As for my alt - tankadin - I would have to say...Essence of Gossamer or the Red Sword of Courage. Ran H AN for two weeks straight without seeing it, and I picked it up on a random go after I'd gotten the Black Heart yesterday. As for the Red Sword of Never Dropping, I ran H UP two weeks straight as well and never saw it. Then I PUG'd a FL25-only zerg one Tuesday morning and got Titanguard with a roll of 47. Still haven't seen Red Sword drop, though, despite farming for badges there.

Breakfast Topic: Is this too easy? {WoW}

Jul 31st 2009 11:02AM Not really, because I'd still be raiding and doing heroics to gear my characters up. It just becomes aggravating to have to endure 7-8 game-days of wasted time getting to the point where I can actually start enjoying the game.

Breakfast Topic: Is this too easy? {WoW}

Jul 30th 2009 3:49AM Personally, I wonder why Blizzard insists on making us start characters from level one for all classes but DKs. There is no reason why you shouldn't be able to start a paladin, hunter, whatever, at level 55 after you've already leveled a character to 80. And before anyone says something about 'learning your class,' I learned nothing about playing my classes until I started doing content that required more than facerolling through mobs for X kills, Y items or Z reason. There are no real mechanics, outside of instances and world bosses, that requires any sort of skill whatsoever to handle.

And level 55 is arbitrary, at that. If they bumped it to 58, or even 65, so you could just skip old Azeroth, I wouldn't shed a tear - old world quests are possibly some of the worst-designed, worst-implemented ones I've had the misfortune to encounter. I would say, though, that it should be an option - some people do actually enjoy leveling, and there are always twinks to consider. But for those of us who want to avoid wasting 7-8 days of game time getting from 1 to 80...please let us start characters out at higher levels.
