Sep 25th 2009 4:53PM This is probably the best of them so far. At least he is marginally improving between each article. That being said, I still had a number of LOLNO moments in this article too.
The first one was: Of course Tracking Demons is pretty cool and all, but the star of this level has to be Flare. Finally, we have a way to smoke out all those despicably treacherous rogues as they try to hide in the shadows.
Flare was good back before TBC launched, but nowadays it is a (pretty bad) RNG skill. You can flare the ground, stand in the middle of it and still be sapped by a rogue. The rogue can still open from stealth on you. You can even drop a trap under your feet, only to have the rogue resist it or disarm it. Or worse yet, dance right on top of it while it fails to go off or do anything useful. Those 1 in 20 times when you do flare a rogue out of stealth though... those are good times.
The second LOLNO moment came from this gem:
The main thing you learn at level 34 is the Explosive Trap. While your pet is tanking the mob you can lay this trap down to help add a bit extra damage and then move back to finish them off. It's also good to know that if you decide to raid Survival, your Explosive Trap can be used to trigger Lock and Load.
Ok, at this point you don't have volley. So I'll forgive melee range to drop the trap. How about mentioning to drop the trap BEFORE you pull and pull the mobs to the trap with your pet? That couldn't hurt, could it?
But then we have the recurring criticism of this series. Is this a leveling noob guide or a raid readiness guide? Why does LnL only become useful with raiding? It is low enough in the tree for leveling players to get and can be lethal against elites while leveling.
The viper sting comment was good and unexpected. I don't think you had mentioned aspect of the viper really before that, even though it was trainable at level 20 (according to WoWhead).
Sep 25th 2009 1:16PM Time to comment jack.
So is this developer calling GC a liar? GC had previously stated that phasing technology has been in the game since day one and that stealth is handled the same way phasing is.
Is Ghostcrawler wrong again or just lying?
Sep 18th 2009 10:45AM It is not a PvE buff. Pet loses 50% for 8 seconds roughly every 1 minute. Problem is, pets are more sensitive to damage increasing effects and stats.
Sep 18th 2009 10:43AM Faar is a retarded troll. GC said that BM does not deserve to be viable because it is too easy.
Sep 18th 2009 10:41AM Random Comments:
1.) For over two years I have been saying that the BM tree should be modeled after Feral Druids. We should become a hybrid class that can tank or dps depending on gear and talents within one tree. We could share gear with Feral tanks and have an armor boost talent (Thick Hide anyone?) to upgrade the leather to mail.
2.) Hunter representation cannot get any worse in arena, considering we were sitting at somewhere around 0.5%. Hint: 10% is balanced and even with readiness/bm and tnt hunters have NEVER passed 11%.
3.) The cooldown reduction is a huge nerf that Blizzard is trying to suppress. BW/TBW popped? Press bubble and the hunter automatically loses. Press iceblock and the hunter loses. Press icebound fortitude and the hunter loses. Press evasion and the hunter loses. It used to be that many classes had to deal with 5-8 seconds of hunter damage, but now they won't even have to worry.
4.) GC said the talent had to be nerfed because it was both offensive and defensive. Still waiting on Paladins to not be allowed to attack or heal while bubbled.
Sep 16th 2009 4:48PM Note, the promised to fix pet issues including dying too easily/often and not scaling with fight buffs years and years ago. It is called the carrot on the stick method. You keep paying, Blizzard never has to actually try.
Sep 16th 2009 4:42PM 1.) It is owned by AOL. Pay people to press F7 in word before submitting. Or you know, get a browser other than IE that has spell check built in.
2.) MMO Champion doesn't seem to have a spelling issue, and processes information quicker and more accurately. Not to mention MMO Champ isn't owned by a corporation.
Sep 16th 2009 4:40PM Beast Cleave relies on damage without CC because hunters have always had, currently have, and will continue to have for the foreseeable future, pisspoor CC. Until we get targeted, spammable, non-cool-downed CC like mages or warlocks, hunters will never be viable in arena. I guess that 0.5% of arena players who played hunters was just too much for GC to handle. He won't be happy until that number reaches zero.
Sep 16th 2009 4:31PM Ger is a troll.
He never said hunters are the easiest class to play. He said they are easier now than they were Pre-WotLK. That is a undeniable, indisputable fact. Hunters remain one of the, if not the, hardest class to play in the game. It just isn't as hard as it once was, with calculating shot speed to make sure auto shots do not get clipped being removed. Playing a hunter used to require detailed modeling of each and every shot, and now it is just plug and play, with the modeling done as more of a formality than anything else.
Sep 16th 2009 4:25PM Wubbles, that means you've been a huntARD since day one of the EU release if you don't follow his statement.
