Dec 8th 2010 9:40AM I want to win.
Sep 10th 2010 7:12AM Sounds like you would all prefer a game like SEED. How quickly everyone forgets SEED. Look it up. It was an MMO than never made it out of beta, a non-combat co-operative MMO where people spent time repairing a space station and socializing. It sounds like that is what you want from a Star Trek based MMO.
Sep 3rd 2010 7:24AM I loved this episode and look forward to the next. The secret puzzle was a huge surprise and while completing it doesn't give you any special rewards it totally reminded me of the great puzzles in DDO. I hope they add more of these to all the weekly episodes. (looks like they just removed this puzzle from the episode, not sure why, my guess is because the next episode will expand on it)
I recently went back to the game after not playing for months and i must say its a different experience that i am really finding engaging. The secret is to find a fleet (guild)! Seriously any fleet with a large active player base will do. It totally changes the game because now suddenly there are reasons to group for fun and to get help and all the missions are like mini dungeons from other games like wow. With the new squad system there is no limitation on who can join your group (based on levels) because it will level match you to the group leader.
The next episode is due in a day or two and i cant wait. Also there are new dailies in the new system i think 3 or 4 and if they keep adding dailies with each episode arc then there will be a TON of content to do every day even at max level.
The only feature they need to add to make STO perfect is the ability to make Fleet actions just that, fleet (aka guild) actions, meaning when you fly into a fleet action have it ask you if you want to join your own fleets instance or a public instance. My fleet would run these all the time if we could lock out people who don't know what they are doing and make the FA impossible to complete. (thinking of CE one)
Aug 19th 2010 12:24PM Ship interiors need to replace the system map view. When you are in a group with other captains they should all be on their own bridge but with the option to send their holographic image to another ship because obviously holo-emitters are installed in all rooms of all ships now.
I think its too much to ask at this point for the same sort of freedom the the SWG JTL expansion offered where you could be a passenger on your buddy's ship and basically look out a window at live real time space battle he was in. I think they could fake it good enough so you get the impression you are traveling somewhere.
When at a destination the bridge could "hail" the captain (popup box) informing them of their arrival at the system and could you please report to the bridge (if you are not there already.) sitting int he captains chair at this point via a context menu could then bring you back to the normal space combat viewer in the mission.
The ship needs to be functional. they added damage as a death penalty now so to repair damage to you or your crew you should have to visit sickbay on your ship. To repair the ship from death damage you should have to visit engineering.
these are all very basic things that don't sound hard to me to implement. My ship has an engineering lab why not put a crafting station there with a replicator for the basic components?

Aug 2nd 2010 12:39PM A Tail In the Desert (ATITD) has by far the best crafting system of any MMO. In fact the entire MMO is based on crafting.
You have to build things from scratch and build upon what other people build. It is all based on period appropriate tools and technology.
Apr 5th 2010 8:33AM So obviously the first thing that came to mind was the NGE but then i reread the question and it wasn't asking what decision a developer made that you wish was different it was asking about your decisions.
So to answer the question asked I would have to say I wish I didn't leave Earth and Beyond for SWG.
I think a lot of players did just that and so EA had to close EnB. It had its flaws but i also remember it being a really fun MMO that I wish never closed. I cant imagine where it might have grown to if it still were around today, the developers had big plans for it that they revealed after its closing.
