Reminder: Hunter and priest columnists application due on Friday {WoW}

Dec 8th 2009 10:48AM Okay, apparently I struck a nerve with that. Thought it would be fun. I guess not. Down-rank it to oblivion.

Dec 8th 2009 10:46AM Eh, it was the first time I've ever done something like that -- and only because it was the post about the applications.

Dec 8th 2009 10:38AM First. And hopefully I was among the first to apply as well!

Patch 3.3 PTR: Shadow Priest buffs galore in build 10571 {WoW}

Oct 13th 2009 7:16PM As a long-suffering shadow priest who has never seriously raided with any alt (just got a DK to 80 like 2 months ago and thats my only max-level alt) and has NEVER raided as holy or disc, this is the best news I could imagine. Back in BC I was already advocating having haste effect DoTs -- now it's finally looking to be a reality. The buff to Glyph of Shadow helps me a ton since I'm a human priest -- The Human Spirit racial never looked so good.

I'm already cranking out fairly decent DPS in raids because I'm pretty geared, but this should help me finally avoid the "You should have rolled a mage/lock," crap I get every time a PuG needs a healer and asks if I can switch specs. NO. I rolled a priest because I loved the complexity of shadow DPS. Not to heal. Find a real healer and watch me dominate your DPS meters instead.

In short, LOVE this news. Even more excited for 3.3 now -- and I hadn't thought that was possible.

Breakfast Topic: Most frustrating non-drop {WoW}

Aug 6th 2009 8:23AM I have two good ones. The Nathrezim Mindblade from Prince Malchezzar in Karazhan is first. I was using a crappy blue caster weapon called the Bringer of Death for a long time because I simply could not get an upgrade for it on my shadow priest. I killed Prince upwards of 25 times and never saw it drop.

I actually had to grind Arena points to get an upgrade to my main hand (and since I'm terrible at PvP and had no PvP gear at the time, that took MONTHS of work). Of course, less than 2 weeks after getting that arena weapon, I got the trash epic caster mace from Hyjal. Figures.

As bad as that is, my other tale is far worse. When Magister's Terrace came out, everyone and their mother wanted trinkets from the third boss. I was no different, as the caster trinket (again, on my shadow priest) was what I wanted. According to most sites I looked at, it was the most common drop from Priestess Delrissa (the third boss).

I'm not kidding -- it took me 54 kills of Delrissa (believe me, I kept count) before I even saw it drop ONCE. And of course this doesn't include the countless groups that would get to Delrissa and wipe, then causing someone to leave the group and ultimately have the group disband. I wasted far more time in Heroic MgT than I care to admit -- but I did ultimately get that trinket.
