Feb 7th 2012 10:02PM I opted out of real-id as soon as it was implemented for this exact reason - I often like to play alone/quietly and the system didn't have an opt-out.
Jan 18th 2012 9:15AM "Maybe future iterations of LFR can include everything *except* the final, final boss?"
I have been talking about LFR with a friend this week and I wondered the same thing. However, and maybe even tellingly, I come at it from the opposite side: My guild could never field a team, so I've never done current tier raiding. With LFR, I killed deathwing on two toons the first week it opened up. I enjoyed doing it, no doubt, but it did feel a bit trivialized... So I wondered if I'd be upset if the final boss wasn't in the LFR? As of now, no, I don't think I would be, and it would give me some extra incentive to get into normal modes. I would also get my guildies more interested in doing it on normal too.
Jan 16th 2012 1:27PM @puntable: Yes, I did overlook that!
@pyromelter: I don't have a problem with the craft times. It is the materials that are the problem, not the time. I don't even notice the crafting time most of the time. Your third point is pretty much inline with mine.
@Arrohon: Yeah, there are some people who are ignorant or lazy who will do that, but I bet you don't sell 20 stacks a night of it! If they added cloth to the same person who sells threads I bet most people would notice. But there will always be a few who don't know any better.
Jan 16th 2012 11:18AM Thinking quickly about the professions question... I have a couple of ideas.
1) Let vendors sell materials. Not cheaply, but at a level that is expensive for the appropriate level for the profession. So maybe sell linen for 20 silver a piece, wool for 50 silver, and so on. That would effectively cap the AH prices too so it is probably not free market enough.
2) Like mentioned here, profession daily quests.
3) Give even more extra skill gains per item made. This is my preferred option as it is "just" a coding change to crafting procs instead of making lots of dailies for every profession.
