Transmogrifying an homage to Bolvar Fordragon {WoW}

Feb 17th 2012 10:55AM This X100,000,000,000. Bolvar was someone special, I'd like to think that he was capable of holding himself together. We've had so many fallen heroes, one who clawed their way back out of that pit would be amazing.

Hey, you want a plot twist? Sylvanas pulls her Lich Queen impression. No longer a part of the Horde (I could totally see her trying to pull a coup), the Forsaken players and a handful of NPCs remain with the Horde, but leaderless and under extreme suspicion. And THAT is when Bolvar finally finishes getting a grip on the remaining Scourge and goes after Sylvanas...and through some very wierd and intricate hand-waving, the Scourge winds up becoming the new Horde undead faction opposing the now-independent Forsaken. Why does Bolvar join the Horde when he's so clearly Alliance? A: the Horde are used to working with undead, while the Alliance are not. B: In a meta overview, you can't just take a race away from one faction. So having the Scourge join the Horde gives Bliz a convenient excuse as for why there are still undead scampering around Orgrimmar. Also, new racial mount: Frostwyrm!

Never gonna happen, but that's why speculating is so much fun!

The Queue: I've gone viral {WoW}

Feb 13th 2012 12:08PM Whoops! LESS cool, I meant!

Feb 13th 2012 12:08PM Or take the Spaceballs approach and use the Force to crush something more sensitive than a throat.

Honestly, I think the answer is that the movies would be a LOT shorter (and cooler, tbh) if people used the Force in a more logical way.

Encrypted Text: Examining the rogue's assassin ancestry {WoW}

Feb 8th 2012 10:32AM Honestly, I'd love to see ALL pure dps classes get either a tanking or a healing spec. 'Pure' classes used to do slightly more dps in exchange for a lack of versatility. Those days are long past, (rightfully so, IMO) and yet the pures have gotten little new to make up for their lack of flexibility. Lorewise, it wouldn't take all that much to justify the new roles.

Rogues: swashbucklers. Not really much of a stretch to imagine the flashy swordsperson challenging all comers.

Patch 4.3 hotfixes for Feb. 7, 2012 {WoW}

Feb 8th 2012 1:42AM Or while they're at it, how about the Xrds Elder? I died three times to those lvl 85 guards (on a lvl 30ish toon, tbh) until I got lucky and a max-lvl char came by and was willing to distract the guards long enough for me to get the Elder. (If you're reading this, thanks again!)

Blue Posts and Other WoW News: Pandaren mount still being finalized, Book of Glyph Mastery {WoW}

Feb 2nd 2012 2:18PM I really like this idea! Hmm. Perhaps other races who purchased barrels could do a vomit animation when they dismount/crawl out of the barrel? (Pandaren being immune to the motion sickness angle because they're awesome like that.)

The aesthetic consequences of new character models {WoW}

Jan 24th 2012 4:08AM I'm a little surprised that people keep bringing up Old Republic's body types. Am I the only person who feels that SWtOR game has 4 body-types TOTAL, spread out over all...however many races they have?

Jan 18th 2012 3:02PM Music companies have already been issuing takedown notices for songs/videos belonging to other music companies, so it's not that farfetched that a rival MMO could have sites like WowInsider taken down in the hopes of disrupting their fanbase.

Jan 18th 2012 1:29PM Blackouts DO help causes. The Italian version of Wikipedia did a blackout some months ago to protest a bill that was working its way through their governement. Result was a quick backoff from the bill. HOWEVER. While a complete shutdown does draw attention to a cause, doing a partial shutdown the way Wikipedia and Google are also draws attention without risking ticking many of their customers off. Atm, considering the number of people I've talked to who had no idea what these bills were or what they were capable of (and sadly, I'm including some people who were fairly tech-savvy), I support anything that brings these bills to public attention.

P.S. Did you know that until a day or so ago, SOPA/PIPA hadn't gotten any attention in the broadcast news channels? The sole exception was some guy who had his own news show on...CNN, I think? and did a segment on them.

Blue Post and Other WoW News: Possiblity for ignoring entire accounts, not just the player {WoW}

Jan 8th 2012 11:07AM Actually, those aren't trial accounts for the most part, they're lowbie toons made on hacked accounts. Further, if you right-click their toon name and hit Report Spam, it not only /ignores the entire account (at least until you log off), it also removes everything that toon has said from your chatbox. AND sends a report to a GM.
