Reclusive mathematician says 'thanks, but no thanks' to that million dollar prize {Engadget}

Jul 4th 2010 5:34AM I remember something a world renowned scientist once said, Dr. Ian Malcolm. I can't remember the words exactly but he did something with a drop of water that he places on Dr. Ellie Sattler's hand and uttered the words, something something chaos theory.

Anyways, at any rate.

Really, don't take anyone at face value. For all we know, he took the money on the condition that they announce he didn't take the award. As some have mentioned, that way, he won't get robbed or kidnapped in Russia.

Check out our Droid X hub! {Engadget}

Jun 24th 2010 11:25PM I think what is really exciting is what the future holds for mobile phones. This is just an absolutely huge growth area. There is lots and lots of money to be made.

I've been stuck with a Motorola Q for awhile now. A phone that is 3 years old this year sometime. It's o-k ... however, at first, very exciting phone I must admit. But really with the iPhone showing the potential of what these smart phone can do and now the Droid .. I just really look forward to getting the Droid X the 15th. I will be inline early that morning.

Jun 16th 2010 3:40PM I actually saw a 17 year old girl at the mall the other day, and she was petite, I watched her pull a Sprint EVO out of her pocket. And her pockets didn't seem all that big.

Stop with the BS people. Larger phones fit in pockets. Stop this fox news spinning bs.

Jun 16th 2010 1:05PM About 90% of the comments are of people whining and crying and complaining about the screen size of this device. It's just so annoying. Wonder why people don't complain when a screen is too small, like say, the iPhone .. now that is a tiny screen.

Oh and the comment about the Hot Tub Time Machine being on the phone before it's release date ... no, it was released overseas offically They do this to combat piracy. But, chances are he doesn't have the actually R5 legit retail dvd .. he has the ripped R5 version with english line audio.

More Droid 2, Droid X details surface in leaked commercials {Engadget}

Jun 14th 2010 7:51PM @JDubbs115

The context in which I used the word blood for was "suicide" and not diamond.

I appreciate your pov but please don't assume I meant "Blood Diamond"

Jun 14th 2010 7:34PM The thing I like about Droid is ... It's not a "blood" phone like the iphone is. It honestly creeps me out that the iphone was produced at a factory where there were people who committed suicide. In fact, I know many people that will not be buying the blood phones for that very reason.

Western Digital announces WD TV Live Plus HD with Netflix streaming {Engadget}

Jun 9th 2010 1:49PM Actually, don't worry about people talking out of their asses about "why not get something else?"

Why? The WD HD TV live basically rocks. To the people that haven't used one, no, they cannot even pretend to assume they know what it's like until they've owned one. This thing plays ANYTHING, any file and does so almost instantly. It streams 1080p content wirelessly anywhere in your house.

Anyone will tell you this is a solid 10 product all day long.

A simple network share and you're golden.

The WD HD TV live has allowed me to have a "Video Library" complete with movie posters that provide me instant SD/HD streaming wirelessly in my home.

My friends a BLOWN away at this thing.

That is why we're going to be super pissed if they screw us over "again" yes, they've done something like this before where many people say they could have fixed the down mixing issue last year but instead released new hardware.

I will never buy another WD product ever, harddrive, anything if they pull this stunt again. And I hate Netflix. But, regardless, I don't like being screwed over.

iPhone 4: are you getting one? {Engadget}

Jun 7th 2010 6:31PM You know .... anytime I see a poll here, most of the time, the poll basically points you in one direction. Now, I don't know if it's because Engadget were given shiny new Iphone 4's or if the polls are done by highschooler interns, but honestly, it's getting OLD. If you are going to make a poll can you put some real choice in there? Show so backbone and intelligence. Give your audience, I don't know, a bit more respect?

It's pretty clear why you don't. The poll results would clearly show a shift away from Apple and toward Droid. The writing is on the wall and has been for awhile. Yes, I have an iphone touch 8gb. Love it. But that's not to say I can't love something else better.

Also, I'm sure being worried about being banned from future Apple events played a roll as well in this skewed poll.

Dell Streak 16GB in stock on O2 UK website {Engadget}

Jun 3rd 2010 5:35PM A few questions for anyone that would like to answer me. Much appreciated in advance!

Can someone tell me, and I guess I'm not clear on cdma, 3G / 4G etc phone standards, but would I be able to use the Dell Streak with my Verizon account?

I had a chance, recently, a few weeks ago to actually get my hands on the Incredible but I didn't like finger typing on a screen vs. a qwerty slideout. So, I thought I would wait.

Then, I saw a demo unit of the HTC Evo 4g at Best Buy, and wow, that thing is beautiful. It has a great screen. 4.3 I think. Basically, it looks even better than the Incredible.

Then I heard about the Motorola Shadow and Droid 2. At first, I thought I read the Droid2 would be a 4.3 screen with slide out QWERTY board. Then, I read somewhere else, it would be 3.7.

At any rate, I would give up the QWERTY for a 5" screen! I think the virtual buttons on the screen would be easier to hit with my larger fingers.

Thanks for taking to time to respond!
