Sep 14th 2011 6:04PM You wouldn't need to put level 85s in with level 80s when using the dungeon finder. Behind the scenes, the system can have separate queues for the same dungeon, just broken down by level ranges.
This way, if I were to queue for Oculus, there would be a queue full of 80s and then a queue full of 81-85s. This way the higher level characters wouldn't block a level-appropriate character from being chosen in the queue sooner. Sure, the higher levels may have extremely long wait times, since they are being grouped up with only a few other people doing nostalgia runs, but that's just the price for nostalgia runs via the Dungeon Finder, I guess.
It's the same principle as the way the Battleground queues work. And the content wouldn't need to scale, go ahead and let the 85s blow through Hellfire Citadel mobs that are barely level 60... it's no different than what would happen now anyways.
Has this ever been suggested to the developers?
Sep 8th 2011 6:37PM In regards to 25-mans dying off because having to redo the boss achievements with each new recruit being a pain:
With some exceptions, progression raids are done entirely within a guild. What if the achievements for each boss were removed from personal achievements and made as guild achievements? Those are team efforts anyways, right? Then the personal raid meta can be modified to need heroic kills of all bosses AND be in a guild that has the guild achievements and be revered or even exalted with said guild.
This removes the need to do the achievements for recruits, while still requiring them to be there for a heroic kill of each boss AND being in the guild long enough for a high reputation and at least earning their meta drake.
Could be a bad idea, just throwing it out there.
