Why do SO MANY big mobs have death animations that have them fall on and crush you? I mean, obviously blizzard doesn't make us take damage from having twenty tons of living rock fall on our heads, but shouldn't they either do us damage OR make the mobs fall NOT on top of us?

I only bring it up because SO MANY mobs do this, its almost like blizzard has it that way on purpose.

lol actually my first thought when the Celestial Steed was revealed was the line from 2001. "My god. It's full of stars!"

I bought one. I'll never use it on my main (he rides a Netherdrake) but for one simple reason it rocks for all of my alts. Wyverns are FUGLY.

Personally I'm very glad this wasn't made a rare drop or something from Algalon or somebody. $25 is worth it 'cause its the sort of mount you'd have to spend months ingratiating yourself with a raiding guild to even have a chance of getting, otherwise.

Breakfast Topic: Design a unique healing spell {WoW}

Apr 9th 2010 11:38AM I actually had an idea for a unique healing spell a while ago.

How it would work is, it has a short casting time and targets friendly entities. It would heal a small amount on the target, as well as causing a similar amount of damage to enemies within, say, melee range of the target, and healing the target for the amount of damage dealed.

In this way, the spell would not only 'cause small AoE damage, but how much it healed for would depend on how many enemies were in range of the target to get hit by the damage portion of the spell.

I play a DK as my main because I can effectively play a Frost Tank. If that's going away, my DK is gonna join my abandoned paladin and abandoned warrior.

This is the first time in a long time that I've been genuinely pissed off at something blizz has decided to do.

Mar 20th 2010 1:11AM I really hope I'm not the first person to suggest this, but I think that GearScore and Recount need to be combined.

GearScore by itself is nothing but a detriment to the game in every way, and Recount by itself is more often than not used simply to justify e-peen.

Now recount may have a legitimate use, but Gearscore just doesn't. Item level is not in any way a meaningful measure of a player's gear, a players skill, or a player's knowledge of the game.

However, if the popular addon were to combine performance and gear level and present a "score" that was something like "DPS/HPS per iLvL" or "damage-taken compared to damage-taken-by-the-rest-of-the-party per iLvL" or something for tanks, then that MIGHT be legitimately indicative, and while plenty of assclowns would probably still oversimplify things and pull the same e-peen bullshit they do with recount and GS today, at least the score they'd be using wouldn't be completely arbitrary.

Except it is.

However, you are correct that it really is only fun to -some- people. I love tanking. I've played every tank class at some point or another. To me, it is the most fun to be had in the game. However, it is MUCH HARDER than just about anything else.

You know what I and other tanks do to relax when we're not feeling gung-ho enough to tank? PvP, or switch to the healer alt and run as heals.

Healing is easy. You heal your groupmates. DPS is easy, you kill the mobs. Tanking is not easy, because you are pitted against both the mobs, and your groupmates, at the same time.
