Aug 18th 2009 2:57AM I have the exact same experience as you, Matt. At the start of WotLK I found it difficult to find a tank spot for my paladin, and even had to respec dps for a while.
These days, I get to do the heroic daily every day as a tank on both my paladin and my DK, and I find myself tanking Ulduar and Naxx on both as well.
The reason is probably that people found out that tanking was not their cup of tea. In five-mans especially, it's the tank that carries the group, while dps can just sleep walk thru the instance.
So now I have trouble getting some action for my rogue, since everybody wants me to come tank....

As have been mentioned here before: Achievements are "permanent" while epics quickly are replaced by others. Achievements have also become the new "e-peen", since the epics can be picked up in so many other (and "not-so-leet") ways.
Achievements are driving me to play more on my main character than anything else have done before in this game. I used to play several alts, and still do, but these days I put more effort into my main, just to collect those oh-so-precious achievements.
