Aug 23rd 2011 3:28PM Ditto. I just recently got a Mighty Mouse and have been trying to use it, but it just feels weird after years and years of using the trackpad and keys to navigate the WoW screen ...
Great article! It's funny, because my addon list, while a little heavier, is fairly similar to this, for the same reasons.
Nov 25th 2010 2:54AM Yes please! I've been wanting to get a VNC like app for work purposes, and this would just have more applications (i.e. letting me lay in bed and comfortably run WoW) ... Hook me up, please!
Oct 8th 2010 12:28PM @cyno01 What Magma said. ^_^ If you check out her website, she says specifically that the pets in her screenshots are not all of her collection. I think it's because she wants to match the pet with her outfit before she SS's it.
Sep 5th 2010 3:22AM I beg to differ. Having been in several MMO betas before, if there are bugs, the work is not finished. Period. If the work is not finished, and they are letting a select group of people to play to find bugs, that means it's a beta. You can't say something is finished if they -know- they have bugs and they're handing it to people to test. If you give a paper to someone to edit, you obviously don't think you have a finished product, if you want help fixing it.
But more than that, just because you have a preconceived notion of what a beta is, doesn't mean -that's- a beta. Just because Blizzard does a lot of their content in waves doesn't mean it's not a beta, and just because other people may well beta in different forms for different games doesn't make how WoW is beta'ed any less ... beta. Beta is really a slang term, and can therefore be used however people want to twist it.
The bottom line, though, is that no matter what either of our definition of beta might be. Blizzard's definition of beta is a version of the game that they let people play to discover bugs and broken bits. They talk about it all the time on this site, and whether or not we like or agree with the way Blizz works their beta, that's how they do it. It won't be released the way it looks now, that is for certain. And that is why the comment above is a /facepalm. Yeesh.
Sep 5th 2010 3:08AM So far, with most of my transfer copy beta characters, if I left them in any capital (save Dal), when I logged in they were just outside the gates of said capital. So it's most likely that, no matter where you log out in Stormwind (or any other capital) before loading Cata, afterwards you won't find yourself awaking among the ashes ... Whether you want to or not. ;)
Aug 20th 2010 7:21PM "GLUB?" was my initial thought.
I am glad I am not alone in this being exactly what I thought of when I saw this. XD
Aug 17th 2010 8:12PM Ooo! I could use some new eyeshadow. ^_^
Jul 21st 2010 9:30PM Most addons, especially the ones like xPerl and Dominos that make a large change in your ui settings, have Profiles you can save and set in their configuration menus, and it's almost always called that. "Profiles." You should be able to copy the profile from most any character you've already set up, or save settings on a current character.
I tend to go through all of them and save the settings to a common name - like the class or my main. Then when I start a new alt, I can go and copy those settings that work best. There might still be one or two addons that I have to adjust, but for the most part, with my multitude, the profile recalls cover most of them. It cuts the time of readjusting my ui from a good hour to a few minutes of profile load, profile load, profile load aaaaand ... done.
