EA CEO won't share Old Republic release date because of "principal competitor" {WoW}

Jun 10th 2011 12:43AM Apparently Gewalt has never playing the original KOTOR from Bioware which was amazing...much like Dragon Age. Thankfully Bioware isn't Cryptic.

Jun 9th 2011 11:42PM Two things we know for sure.

1) History is in favor of Blizz announcing the next Expansion at BlizzCon this year to setup for a release at the end of 2012. It follows their typical release schedule on how these things work.

2) A Bioware exec said during E3 (yesterday) that they are still on schedule for a 2011 release. So I would fully expect to see it go into public-ish beta here in the next couple of months and then setup for a release date announcement after Blizzcon has passed and then put it in stores by Mid December.

The Queue: How much does a GM make? {WoW}

Jun 1st 2011 6:17PM At the end of the day they are all still call center phone monkeys that get to enjoy a high stress/low reward job of listening to annoying customers. :)

Jun 1st 2011 11:43AM It might be, but most of the information on pay scales can be found online pretty easily. From what I know, their starting pay is around $10/hr, with the ability over a pretty long time to get up to $11 or $12 an hour. So sure, you'll get close to 25k a year once you have been there awhile, but not right away. Also most call center jobs have significant turn over, and Blizzard is no exception. So figure the industry average of 40% churn every year and you'll rarely get employees that will start to top out on the scale.

Jun 1st 2011 11:29AM Cost of living is significantly less in Texas. You can get a ton more for your money than you can elsewhere. Most GMs, which are just call center reps who handle 100+ phone calls plus tickets a day, make anywhere from $8-12/hr.

Jun 1st 2011 11:27AM GMs probably don't even make that. Most Call Center Customer Service Reps, which they are, start below $10 an hour. People tend to forget just what a GM is.

WoW Moviewatch: The End of the World As We Know It {WoW}

Jan 13th 2011 3:02PM Actually liked this one better than Nyhm's. The lyrics seemed to flow a lot better and wasn't as forced as the other. Of course there are more out there that I haven't seen yet (apparently)...but this is a very good one. Maybe another part is I'm also sick and tired of nearly every WOW music video being nothing but R&B, hip hop, or rap junk.
