Nov 25th 2011 9:21PM Tom you are aware most of the people that voted for Prop 8 also voted for Barak Obama right?
Nov 21st 2011 6:15PM @edgecrusherO0 I wrote blog post about blizzard using there less quality people for Warcraft a while ago http://grandoldpodcast.blogspot.com/2011/08/myths-and-truth-of-warcraft-b-team.html
I didn't have cataclysm credits at that time I wrote the article but at least at a leadership level Warcraft has been very stable keeping almost all there content leads. And every expansion as seen more people put to work on World of Warcraft.
There is just no evidences Blizzard is moving people off. That doesn't mean they haven't been high unstable as far as leaders, or that more people seems to be getting less work done. That does appear to be the cause but that is more of personal issue than a problem of stealing from Peter to pay Paul.
Nov 21st 2011 5:31PM If you dig into the gamespot article Lazard Capital Markets says they made this decisions based on a study of 381. Now if that is a random sample its a bit small but not unreasonably so. Most political polls are of 600-1000 people.
Any ways Lizard says they expect "The study found that WOW's age, as well as increased competition, could lead to an exodus of 900,000 to 1.6 million players."
Now I've played wow for a long time and one thing I can tell you there are a lot of people pay for Warcraft that aren't playing Warcraft.
While some might shut off there Warcraft accounts for ToR many will not. So I wouldn't expect Blizzard total accounts lost to get this hit in the second Quarter of 2012.
Only time will tell if Blizzard has legs the real question is can they get Mists of Pandarea out before the 4th quarter of 2012 and I wouldn't bet on that. And with that lack of content they are most likely going to lose far more players than they will ever lose to ToR.
Nov 17th 2011 9:10AM In fairness Blizzard didn't say the drop in warcraft accounts in China were from its Chinese client, however if most of those accounts in china that unsubed were American or European copies of warcraft that becomes quite a statement on just how much money Blizzard makes off the subscriptions of Warcaraft gold farmers.
All that said this article proves the point we really know nothing about the 800,000 people that left Warcraft in the 3rd Quarter.

Sep 1st 2011 1:17AM Writing to make a note about your emailer that was concerned about Origin. World of Warcraft has been running a similar program called Warden since 2005. So use of this kind of invasive software isn't new by AAA MMo's.
As to the concern that your information will be sold I would point you to your local and state governments. Its not uncommon for states to sell all the names of everyone that has driver licenses, Vote rolls, etc. Your information is being sold, if your going to start writing letters EA most likely shouldn't be the top of your list.
Aug 20th 2011 1:15PM its currently on break but Essence of RP with AF sounds like what you are looking for.
