That's why they put an option in to turn that feature off.

In the options you can turn off the Light Side / Dark Side conversation indicator.

Also, it's just gear. Plenty of ways to get gear beyond the LS/DS vendors. I for one am playing for story and character, I'll worry about min/maxing stats later.

Dec 6th 2011 1:31PM Love the idea, excited to see the "new" implementation.

That's what I really love about TOR - it's a Bioware game that is never finished, constantly changing and evolving.

Bioware has always before been a 1. release game 2. patch/DLC/expansion 3. release sequel type of dev studio.

A fully supported MMO with no end and constant feedback/iteration... amazing.

I was actually hoping this would be a really good D&D game.

You know, small close knit groups working together and participating in a changing, evolving story - but now it's just going to be another watered-down MMO light experience.

They have to know they are competing with the likes of TOR and GW2, and D&D as a "full blown MMO" doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell.

Oct 31st 2011 9:32AM I actually thought the new player experience was fine.

Between all the tutorials, career agents, and bread-crumbs to the Sisters of EvE story arc I thought that for those first few weeks EvE does just fine.

It's after that though, for the not-quite-new EvE player that thing really fall flat IMO.

You can either join a corp (and EVE U is really only choice for a true noob and the wait period is atrocious) or you can start grinding missions.

The skill gain starts slowing down after the first few weeks where instead of hours you get into days. I found myself logging in less and less waiting 2-3 days for a new skill and even when I did I'd run a few missions then log off and wait for more skills...

They really need to do something to bump up the early-mid game to make things far more interesting once you've gone passed the trial/noob time frame.

Actually they have said they are bringing the game back into the world, just words right now, but I have a feeling the PvE Scenarios are going to play a big part of that, as is the renewed focus on Horde vs. Alliance conflict this expansion instead of another big-bad-villian expansion.
