Nov 30th 2010 12:04PM Meh, people complain about the cost, but it's all a personal choice. I have friends that laugh at me for buying virtual pets in a virtual world for $10. They ask me how I can afford that, because they have better jobs and can't seem to afford all the toys I buy. I feel obligated to point out that they spend between $5-$8 a beer 2 to 3 nights a week, on top of cover charges and smokes. If they ever stepped back and realized that ALL of their disposable income went to a few fleeting moments of alcoholic pleasure every week, they might realize how I can afford things that aren't liquid. (BTW, I do like beer, but the grocery store only charges me $8 for a whole six pack. That would be $48 at a club that I had to pay to enter in the first place.)
Are they wrong? No, they spend their money on what gives them pleasure. Just like me. The only difference is I am aware enough to know that, while they waste time criticizing me.
