I've wanted this collection since I saw it listed on Amazon.
Apr 15th 2009 12:11PM I've only been on Engadget for the last 4 years, but I've been a daily reader since I've found it.
I think my favorite posts were back when the Nintendo Wii name was released, and there was a lot of argument over if the name was real or not. ha
Mar 5th 2008 12:48PM As a resident of his native Wisconsin, I've gotton the honor of meeting Mr. Gygax more than a couple of times, and he was a great guy. I didn't know him personally, but I was still saddened at his passing. The gaming community has lost one of it's True Masters.
Feb 29th 2008 10:14AM This is getting out of hand.
Why not have a "Choose your level" at the login screen?
Why not just have a "Welcome to Karazhan, please choose your epics..." option?
This game is getting way too easy.
Jan 23rd 2008 10:58AM Actually, only one of my 70's has a full 375 First Aid. All the other toons only go as high as they need to for access to using the high end bandages. I can always make them on my main, and mail them over easy enough, and I don't have to waste stacks of cloth skilling up. It is a bit easier in BC than it was pre-expansion, but I still don't see the need.
Jan 22nd 2008 10:23AM WoW is my first MMORPG. I stayed away from things like Evercrack before because of the addictive nature of them, and it seemed like there was a lot of downtime between actually killing stuff. But I decided to try WoW anyway. Started with a NE Hunter (go figure), newbie zone, boring. NE zone, boring. Darkshore, boring. So I figured it was all about clearing a zone, going to the next, etc. Almost gave up about level 20, then had some friends take me to the human starting zones to do some of their quests and get perpared for DM (when Dead Mines was called DM, and pretty much all groups were level appropriate), and then saw Duskwood, and I was hooked. Suddenly I was being sent all over the place to learn about long quest lines, and figuring out what was where, and why. It really got interesting fast.
Jan 20th 2008 12:26PM We were 50% into the Gruul fight, everything going as planned, when the server disconnected. Ugh.
Jan 18th 2008 11:37AM Between all the quests in BC, and the multitudes of instance runs you should be doing for rep, you can easily hit 70 without ever setting foot in the last 2 zones. Then you can do all those quests for gold, and the gold really does add up fast. I remember not being able to do the Blood Ring quest when I was level appropriate, and doing it at 70, running all the bosses is worth over 100g. Not bad for 15 minutes work.
Dec 14th 2007 10:46AM My favorites were always Desolace and Duskwood. Desolace because it's a huge pain to quest there for most people, and out of the way, so it tends to be empty, and there are some really original quests there. Good place to grind.
Duskwood because it has a great ambiance and feel to it, it's completely unlike the other human zones which are bright and happy. Great quest chains in Duskwood, like the Stitches quests, Mor'Ladim, and Stalvan.
Sep 6th 2007 12:01PM Yeah, I'm pissed. I feel like I paid a $200 penalty for buying into the dream. And no, this isn't ruining my life, I didn't kick my dog, or anything like that.
But one thing is for DAMN SURE. I will NOT be buying another Apple product out of the gate ever again.
