Dec 16th 2010 8:51AM I haven't played since they introduced it, to be honest, but doesn't LoTRO have a scaling skirmish system? AFAIK they implemented it as follows: you can scale your instance based on group size, and then on top of that you can also change the difficulty level of the instance too.
It wouldn't necessarily work with WoW's dungeon philosophies (and even in LoTRO it's only used for dynamic, randomly generated instances and not their static raids), but it's an interesting way of looking at things, I thought.

Dec 15th 2010 4:58AM Whilst I agree that we certainly did need a nerf (and to be honest, we knew it was coming), they've gone about it the wrong way. Instead of essentially making Holy Light completely worthless and changing our (new) core mechanic, why not just a) nerf the output of LoD as they have done, and b) make it so that the LoD healing doesn't transfer to your beaconed target? Alternatively, why not reduce the chance for Holy Light to proc a HoPo charge?
It will now take me 12 seconds to generate 3 HoPo, unless I spend copious mana flashing inefficiently. Looks like I'll now be spending the time I used to cast Holy Light in melee range Crusader Striking the mobs to generate my HoPo. I'm not sure there's an awful lot of point in taking Tower of Radiance or casting Holy Light at all, anymore. Perhaps Blessed Life would be a better talent to use?
Either way, it's not worth crying about since I/we'll adapt - we always do. It would have been nice for them to tell us, mind; sitting in a heroic thinking "uh... where's my holy power! Why's the tank dying?! Why do I have no mana!?" was a wee bit disconcerting ;)
Dec 14th 2010 6:59AM Not sure what your issue is, but I had a problem with this quest that meant the seahorse I was trying to lure kept despawning. Turns out that I was using an addon to automatically summon a non-combat pet, and every time a used the lure a new pet came out (meaning that the seahorse despawned and I couldn't mount it). I found this also happened when I had the Haunted Memento in my bags.
Simple fix for me was to disable said addon, and/or pop the memento into my bank until I'd mounted the seahorse.
