Blue Posts: Ghostcrawler returns saying no to warlock tanking spec {WoW}

Mar 26th 2012 11:19PM @Imnick: There isn't even a change here.

The community read what they wanted. They saw "taunt" in the tooltip and went "ZOMG DEMO TANK SPEC". GC is just rightly informing them that they're idiots for thinking that. It was pretty obvious to me that this was a situational emergency button type thing.

No wonder Blizzard hates data mining.

Should WoW players be responsible for player accountability? {WoW}

Feb 8th 2012 7:52PM You can solve that in a similar way they operate the vote kick system and its dynamic cooldown.

The more you abuse that downvote, the less you're allowed to use it. Maybe you start with 10 votes a day, but if you're doing nothing but downvoting everyone, that gets pared back. Over time the votes of the people using the system properly will outweigh the trolls.

Retribution paladin DPS broken after realm restarts [Updated] {WoW}

Retribution paladin DPS broken after realm restarts [Updated] {WoW}

Feb 2nd 2012 4:42AM There seem to be two levels to this bug.

One, pallies are doing stupid amounts of damage just by playing normally. Believe me, you don't have to do *anything* special to trigger this bug. Your normal rotation is probably dealing 2-5x normal DPS right now. Blizz can't do much about that, except telling pallies to just not play at all, which seems like a good way to invoke massive amounts of customer rage.

On the flipside, there is apparently a very intentional, exploitative method of abusing this bug (via macros and timing of various abilities) that is floating around, which is throwing up some truly ludicrous numbers -- like approaching 2 MILLION DPS. Yes, seriously.

Now *that* I hope they scan and banhammer for.

Feb 2nd 2012 4:09AM The issue seems to be that the procs from the Seals of Command talent are re-proccing the seals themselves in an near-endless loop. Basically, it's Reckoning Bomb 2.0 -- you take one swing and unleash this massive stack of damage.

The same bug can also be done with Seal of Righteousness. There's another WoL parse out there with a pally on Yor'sahj dealing over 36M SoR damage, 441K DPS overall. In Stonecore, you can take out the entire first trash pull with a single Divine Storm.

Guildie of mine running BGs tonight said pallies were literally one-shotting everything that crossed them.

Don't expect this to last much past lunchtime tomorrow. Still, it's very amusing to witness while it lasts.

May 17th 2011 6:01PM The Blizz forums have never needed a reason to complain.

So it'll be business as usual, working as intended, etc etc.

May 17th 2011 12:06PM There is also eSATA (external SATA), where you can hotplug an external hard drive straight into the SATA bus. You can find a bracket on Newegg that turns one or two of your internal SATA connectors into eSATA.

That should easily crush any USB or Firewire solution.

"Escargot" is French for "fat crawling bag of phlegm".

May 12th 2011 12:39PM Only 500g for a Book of Glyph Mastery? Please send your server's economy my way. They are no less than THREE-EFFING-THOUSAND on mine.

Thankfully my scribe doesn't need any more books, but I feel for anyone else trying to fill out Inscription in Cataclysm. This is the only profession with this idiotic system in place, and it desperately needs to be fixed.

May 8th 2011 2:21AM Trust me, you are the very lucky exception and not the rule.
