Feb 19th 2009 5:29PM Hmm. It's not very often I say this, because I know, erm, quite a bit about Machinima creation these days, but - how was it done? New animations inserted into a private server, or all hand-animated and rendered like Blind?
Feb 5th 2009 6:29AM Hmm. I'm not blown away. The changes are nice, but there's nothing making me jump up and down (depending on how much AR's cooldown has been reduced. If it's down to 1 minute, or something, THAT would be impressive).
I'm with all the other commenters. Keeping HfB up on anything but boss fights is going to be close to impossible. Keeping it up on 5-man boss fights is going to be bloody tricky - I've now not only got to remember to refresh it every 30 seconds (which I usually manage to do - it's not that much of a hassle), I've also got to make absolutely sure that I've got a bleed up at that time - and as previous commenters have said, Rupture's the one thing in the current rotation that you can occasionally let drop for a few seconds.
And assuming you're Doing It Right, this doesn't save you any energy. I reckon in a 10-minute boss fight, this'll save me maybe 120 Energy total - I do forget about HfB occasionally, but not very often.
The damage buff is nice, though.
I like the idea, but it sounds pretty heinous to keep up to me. Maybe in a 10-man or 25-man you can guarantee someone else keeping up bleeds, but I wouldn't be certain of it in a 5-man.
Jan 13th 2009 6:34AM I'm posting here because I can't find a way to contact the current moderators on the page - it's pretty clear the person posting isn't Darjk, but I can't get into the forums without a password.
I'd be interested in helping with the hosting issue. Depending on the bandwidth required, I could either host directly or hook the Modelviewer guys up with some people who would probably be very up for helping.

Dec 31st 2008 11:32AM My first post ever on a BRK column, I think, and I'm posting just to say - nice one. This is a really good piece. You're focusing on what's actually important in the game - the memories.
I'd love to see one of these for every class. Hmm, let's see...
Prot Warriors should clearly have the base-level Gladiator shield ("Oh, god, another 15 runs of EoTS to go!"), The Suneater ("It dropped! YEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS!"), the tanking trinket from MgT Heroic ("OK, guys, I know we've wiped 12 times on these mobs, but we can do it! Why? Because I WANT THAT DAMN TRINKET, that's why!"), and the Bulwark of Azzinoth ("I'm never going to have one, but it's nice to dream..."). Probably loads of raiding kit, too - I don't know that stuff.
Rogues? Well, obviously the Warglaives.
I don't have any other classes high enough. Suggestions?
Dec 20th 2008 11:15AM What am I doing?
Levelling. Slowly. I reckon I'll have an 80 some time around May...
Dec 9th 2008 5:32PM Actually, I just re-watched, and I was talking rubbish about the text. There's something bugging me about it, but I'm not sure what.
Dec 9th 2008 5:30PM OK, what the hell was the Sefirot doing in the original series? Damn, I may have to watch Evangelion now.
Great parody. If I was nit-picking I'd say that the flashes of text at the end need to be about half the duration, but I'm not. Honest.
I'll be talking a bit about this on Machinima for Dummies ( http://www.machinimafordummies.com ) tomorrow, I think.
Dec 4th 2008 11:56AM Alex drank 11 teabags' worth of camomile over that test, the last 6 teabags' worth made up as double-strength (two bags to one cup). Each cup was infused for 5 minutes. We did test fairly!
Where would we get the tincture? Enough herbal medicine people have said "forget tea, get something stronger" that I'm curious to try it out.
Dec 2nd 2008 12:55PM I'm very glad Bartle is calling Blizz out on this one. Much as I'm loving WoTLK, I really hated this quest. It felt like my character was being forced by game design into doing something he wouldn't do. Plus, the "oh, torture's fine really and there are never any ill effects" writing of the quest reminded me strongly of "24"'s pro-torture propaganda.
Sure, in theory you can skip it, but you have to avoid quite a lot of enjoyable in-game content in order to do so, and there's no indication that you won't miss much, much more.
Nov 20th 2008 8:31PM Yeah. I was REALLY unimpressed with that one too.
If I have to do any more torture quests, I think my levelling may be coming to a sudden halt.
